In July 2017 our company was approached by a gentleman named Brandon Jones, who was a sales rep for HarborTouch. However, he did not identify himself as that when he called, instead he said that he was associated with a civil lawsuit that was going after credit card companies that were overcharging for transaction fees, he was a little bit confusing and it was hard for us to understand who he was and what he was selling or contributing, he tried to re-clarify by saying that the fraud and deception along with the extremely high credit card fees are hurting the small businesses in America. Ok I said, I agree! Then he went on to say that he would like to look at our current credit card processing company's statements, so he could see where the overcharges were, and what rates we should be paying. He also stated that after his findings they would be contacting my credit card processing company and telling them to cease and assist in their fraudulent charges, at this point I thought it was some kind of a civil attorney, that was letting me know that I could get in on a lawsuit due to these ridiculous , Fraudulent charges.
So OK, I took a leap of faith with Brandon Jones, he sounded like a nice guy… So I faxed them over a couple months of my credit card processing statements and he immediately called me telling me where all he could save me money, how he could Those rates and start saving me money right away! At that point I was like… Excuse me are you a credit card processing company? To which he answered yes I am! And we are one of the best companies out there! We are looking out for ALL clients and we are going to help them like they have never been helped before! I was like wow! So what can you do for me Brandon? Is he proceeded to describe all the differences he said actually it would just be easier if you would fill out one of our forms, it's just an introductory form, and we can show you where our rates on that form! It's just a piliminary measure to make sure that you can see the numbers for yourself So I gave him my email address and he sent me the forms. This was all on my husband's birthday by the way, and we were getting ready to do an afternoon at the lake and maybe throw a line in and fish a bit , So I asked Brandon if I could get back to him at a better time, it was my husband's birthday and we were really making our way out the door when I got his call.
At this point he proceeded to convince me that the sooner I filled out the form the sooner he could do his job and save me a tremendous amount of money and at the same time he could sue my previous credit card company and I could be getting a great big fat check really soon! So like a dumb dumb I filled out that what I came to find out to be was a contract to a very horrible, deceitful, miss leading, and unyielding credit card processing company, called HarborTouch. While I was filling out the application, waiting to go celebrate Mike's birthday, I was receiving multiple text messages from him asking if I needed any help with the application, and had I sent it and perhaps he missed it? To which I texted him back and said no, these things take a little bit of time here… Yeah well now I know why he rushed me through this, it was so I didn't read all the fine print, you know that FinePrint that we're all supposed to read? Well I'll tell you what there will never be another contract that I do not read the fine print on that I signed my name because my life has been a living hell ever sense. Number one I was told that there was not a contract, by Brandon, he said that that applied only if you had the point of sale system, not just a credit card terminal like I was getting, I said really? Because I'm signing something that states there will be a cancellation fee, to which he replied don't worry about that, it would doesn't apply to you.
So I sent my application back like an idiot, and they tested my account to make sure that it was active with a 3cent exchange, oh and I almost forgot to include that he said I would receive a free upgrade it terminal at no cost to me. So I got my terminal, I hooked it up, I called Brandon and I said OK I've got it hooked up and he said OK let's check and make sure it's working right so just run A one cent transaction from your own credit card to which I did. I thought this is great I finally have found a company that is going to keep it real with their credit card charges and I got a free upgraded machine that everybody else wanted a considerable amount of money for. My first batch out was $700, went through just fine, oh I almost forgot to mention before my first batch out the company took $27 out of my account and then another random do 1.27
