Once again, this rip off report website is the ONLY entitity where people, who have been screwed by companies and other organizations can go to vent their frustrations and try to seek justice.
A WORD TO ALL USA CITIZENS ON MEDICARE. If you feel a doctor or hospital has violated your civil rights, or you have been abused, mistreated or otherwise harmed by a doctor or hospital, DO NOT BOTHER FILING A COMPLAINT WITH LIVANTA.
This organization, who at first, claims to be an advocate and ombudsman for the rights of the people, are nothing more than ONE BIG RIP OFF. Their panels are made up of doctors and hospital medical staff. Most of the time, they will find no cause for your complaint.
It does not matter how detailed your complaint is. What witnesses you have. What valid documentation you have to prove your case, THEY WILL JUST MINIMIZE, TRIVIALIZE AND BASICALLY RENDER YOUR TRUE COMPLAINT AS INVALID.
This has happened to me twice already and the truth about Livanta and other such Medicare Quality of Care Organization must come out.
I am a senior citizen in my 70s and have recently been abused by Emergency Room Staff at the Jackson County Regional Health Center, AKA Jackson County Public Hospitaql in Maquoketa, Iowa This happened April 18, an 19, 2023 and my struggle continues to this very day.
On top of that, my civil rights were violated. I have tried everything to resolve my case.
Most lawyers out there, do not want to go against hospitals. They do not do that kind of law or have a conflict of interest.
The hospital management refused to help me. I have contacted US Senators and Representatives to try to get them to investigate Livanta to see why they are mostly refusing to believe the citizens of the USA who file valid complaints against Hospitals and Doctors.
Medicare is also to blame here. They approve of Livanta and other such Ombudsmans like Kepro. Yet, when Livanta failed to correctly investigate the complaints, they just do nothing.
Anyone out there on Medicare gets a quarterly Medicare Summary Notice of Claims. On the notice, there is a CLEAR BOX WHICH ENCOURAGES CITIZENS TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO MEDICARE IF THEY FEEL THERE IS EVIDENCE OF OVER BILLING, UNNECESSARY MEDICAL TESTS, AND OUTRIGHT FRAUD.
My experience is that they encourage you to file these complaints, yet do nothing. WHY IS THAT? CAN SOMEONE OUT THERE TELL ME WHY?
There have been reports out there that Medicare may not have the funds to continune in the future. Yet, when someone, like myself, lets them know that they are being defrauded or over billed, THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, I BELIEVE THAT LIVANTA IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST RIP OFFS OUT THERE.
COMPLAINING TO THEM, IN AN HONEST WAY, WILL LEAVE YOU FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF.
The big excuse I get from LIVANTA is that they can ONLY REVIEW THE MEDICAL RECORD OF THE DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL. In my case, the Hospital Medical Record was a total lie!
THEY CANNOT INCLUDE THE COMPLAINT YOU FILED.
THIS IS LIKE GOING TO COURT AND THE JUDGE ONLY LISTENS TO ONE SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT!
THEY TOTALLY IGNORED MY VALID COMPLAINT AGAINST THE HOSPITAL.
SURPRISE. THEY FOUND NO CAUSE FOR MY COMPLAINT - EVEN WITH THE STRONG PROOF AND EVIDENCE I SUBMITTED TO THEM.
THIS IS WHAT IT IS LIKE WITH LIVANTA.
I even asked for a RECONSIDERATION. That was yesterday January 18, 2024. Lo and Behold today, January 19, 2024 - NOT EVEN 24 HOURS SINCE THE SO CALLED RECONSIDERATION - I GET A PHONE CALL FROM SOME LOW LEVEL EMPLOYEE, SAYING THE RECONSIDERATION WAS COMPLETED AND
SURPRISE, SURPRISE, THEY CONTINUE TO FIND NO CAUSE FOR MY COMPLAINT AND SIDED COMPLETELY WITH THE HOSPITAL.
AFTER ALL, THEIR PANELS ARE MADE UP OF MEDICAL DOCTORS AND HOSPITAL STAFF. SUCH A PANEL WILL NEVER GO AGAINST THE DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL.
THE CITIZEN HAS ZERO CHANCE OF PREVAILING.
WHAT A COLLASSAL RIP OFF THIS IS.
This is why, I am asking anyone out there who is reading this report, to speak up if they also feel that Livanta, and other such Quality of Care Organizations have also failed to handle their complaint correctly.
Speak up and call your US Senators and Representatives. Call your newspapers and maybe you can find an investigative reporter.
