My husband ordered understanding they were 800.00. Found out later that the cost was a total of 2159.76. This was not the amount we were given and did not realize until 99.00 a month was being taken out of our account. By then it was too late.
Customer service said we should have looked at the invoice that came with the hearing aids. That is our fault that we didn't look at the invoice, we assumed the price stated was the cost being billed. They lied! The hearing aids do not work and they keep telling us to call them for adjustments. He can't hear!
My elderly grandpa ordered hearing aids from Listen Clear with the understanding that he had a 45 day risk free trial period.
After taking them into his hearing doctors office and his doctor telling him they would not work for him, he called Listen Clear to return them. They went through the entire process to trouble shoot all the issues with no resolve. They tried many ways to trouble shoot and finally connected him to the RETURNS department. Alex Ingalls, in the RETURN department did not offer my grandpa an option to return the hearing aids, but rather offered him a DISCOUNT to keep them. Listen Clear then proceeded to take the first payment, which VOIDS the risk free trial period.
What was not explained to him was that accepting the discount and making the payment VOIDS the 45 day trial period. Because my grandpa can't really hear what he's agreeing to, (that's why he's ordering hearing aids), he thought he was agreeing to return them. He was talking to the RETURNS department, right? So, long story short. He can't use them or return them so he will throw them in the garbage and continue to pay his discounted $980.00. This company is dealing with mostly ELDERLY people who cannot hear and most of the time do not understand ListenClears tricks and vices to get their money and not allow them any way out of paying for something that doesn't work.
My grandpa thought that after speaking to the RETURNS department and telling them his hearing aids didn't work, he would be mailed a shipping return label so he could return items that DON'T WORK FOR HIM! When I tried calling Listen Clear, they would no longer transfer me to the returns department, wouldn't offer me anything in writing that says NO RETURNS, and were clearly used to dealing with upset customers as they immediately got rude, condesending, and kept interrupting me. They trick their elderly customers into having NO WAY to return items. This company is SCAMMING elderly people. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.
I called them based on a TV ad. They said the units were $800 each. I said I couldn't afford it so I was put on hold and then told the supervisor had approved the price of $600 each, which I agreed to, with monthly payments I would send at $40/month.
They keep sending me an invoice for $1679.76, even though I have already paid $573.98. Now their credit department has called me saying they want to fix a problem and that my most recent notice to them is the first they have heard of a problem, even though I write the correction on the bill and send it back each month. My bank sends payment automatically each month.
The "credit" lady laughed at me when I explained what the Federal Communications Commission had told me about not using the word "yes" in a phone conversation because they will copy and paste it into a telephone agreement to make it look like I agreed to something I didn't agree to. They still have not corrected their bill.
Since they will NOT accept a reeturn and have stated that they would send a package back to me and charge me for the shipping, and since I have used both units at one time or another, I agree to pay the $600/each for them. I told her that is all I would pay.
My father suffered a tramatic brain injury 26 years ago. He had his head split open which resulted in him being permanently disabled. He has half a brain, one eye, one ear that functions and other physical disabilities. He suffers from memory loss and doesnt recall some of his day to day activities. In this case, he was watching television and saw the listen clear add. He then pursued to call and purchase a hearing aid. He was never told the product was 1919.79$ and thought it was one payment of 239$. He had the producy shipped to his canadian home and then forgot all about it.
I was going through his bills and receipts and came across a letter that showed a past due amount of just over 1600$. I called the company directly and explained my fathers situation in hopes of them having some leniency for him and his disability as they make a living making products for people lile himself. I told them the product was untouched as he had forgotten all about it. I was passed to a very rude sales rep and she then told me it is too bad and if I wanted to take them to court than that's ok. I couldn't believe my father has become a victim of their product and I am desperately looking for a way to return this product as my father does not need nor can afford to use it.
DO NOT try this product, they will tell you its a free trial. Truth is they will string you along trying to get the defective product working and tell you not to worry the return of the product. We will extend the trial no worries just get back to us when you can and we will get this to work for you. Then they will set a time to resolve the matter, never show up to the call and then say oh look its past the return date you owe us 1700 USD.
DO NOT be fooled these hearing aids are NO GOOD, they are poor performance and horrible fitting.
Listen up and listen clear, this company called Listen clear is no more than a leech sucking bllod from the veins of the elderly and anyone unwise enough to fall prey to their TV ads. They operate under the guise of a legitimate company but believe me they are far from it. In essence, they possess all the trappings of FLIGHT BY NIGHT operation with the sole purpose of making a profit any which way they can. Do not be fooled by their clever ads for they are a classless operation.
My wife, unbeknownst to me, was unfortunate enough to trust this company and try their hearing aid for the promised 45 days free. Firstly, my wife was informed the cost of the product was 4 payments of $69.00 and when the product arrived, it was bulky and not a good fit. My wife then sent it back requesting something smaller and not as powerful as the original unit. The second unit arrived some 30 days later but had a tendency ot stop working around electronics. At that point we had made about 3 payments, so we decided to just cut our losses and return the product because we still had not received a contract from the company and genuinely felt uneasy about their actions.
My wife then called to return the product and was told we owed 21 more payments. She then stated she was originally told only 4 payments of 69.00 not 24 payments. After all, she on a fix income and would never agree to buy a hearing aid for upwards of $1500.00. She requested a return ;abel but they flat out refused to do so. In fact, one of the customer serviceless agent stated they would send her a collection letter.
I then myself called this operation and that is how I refer to them because they does not qualify as a company. I actually felt as if I was speaking to someone lounging in his bedroom. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and after a long while someone can on the line who I felt was pretending to be a supervisor. I demanded to be allowed to listen to the call but he said he could not comply but assured me he had and the agent advised 24 payments. I told him I did not believe my wife would agree to pay 1500 for a hearing aid on a fixed income. No one would agree to such rubbish. I then request a return address to give back his product but he refused to cooperate stating we were not past the 45 day return window and now must pay for the product.
I told him he was absolutely made if he thought I was paying 1500 for a hearing aid when they never produced a contract...his agent flat out lied to my wife....they are unwilling to accept their defective product back and even unwilling to allow me to listen to the call. Folks, now that does not make sense for a legitimate company to behave that way and if something does not make sense...then it is a LIE...so listen clear and steer clear of this fly by night operation.
It stands to reason a operation like these guys would get into the hearing aid business for the sole purpose of preying on the ones who need these devices....Senior Citizens...they tell you it is 4 payments...send no contract..and then slam you with 24 payments...Seniors cannot hear well to begin with so it would be easy to say..Oh...no the agent said 24 payments....especially when they are not sending a contract and their customer's auditory senses are reduced already which in essence is the reason they are calling in the beginning.
I was contacted by Listen Clear, and asked if I wanted a free trial, I never received the product, called them several times and told them I never got their product, I even told them I didn't want it any more after several attemps, then about 3 months later my bank account was charged $69.99. I contacted their customer service, to reverse the charge from my bank account. The customer service represenative stated they would reverse it, and remove any information so the there will be no more recurring charges, which they did not due, coz this month I am being billeed again for $69.99. I may have to close my bank account just to stop them from charging me for something I never got and don't want every month, They are frauds, you get nothing and still have to hassle with them every month to have them reverse the charges.
Listen Clear is using deceptive practices to get the elderly to buy their hearing aids. Then Listen Clear steals commissions from employees. They ripoff the elderly and then ripoff young employees. Do not buy their product. It's cheap and does not last long. You will regret buying their product.
The conatct them and they sent hearing aides, they did not work as told- so I called they had me send them back and were going to extend my trail period- however before that time was up- they charged my credit card and will not reurn the funds- told me I could not return the hearing aides they will not return the money either way. They stole $ 1800.00.
