Lindsey's Attic Reviews

This store is apparently a well organized consignment. What is actually well organized is the manner in which they steal expensive items from the poor consumer who trust them to sell unwanted items in the home that are actually too good to dispose or give away.

I took a beautiful curio cabinet ( not a scratch, salad wood, colonial style, 30 years old ). Jen, store clerck, accepted the item telling me it would be sold for $350.00 I added various items, among them a Michelangelo's copy of his "Original Sin" painting frame in a 27x14 beautiful golden wood frame.

I visited the store at the end of each month as advised by them. When I asked if there was a check for me. The answer was always "no. no yet" or " We do not have the list here" or any other answer telling me to call back in a day or two.

They may also ask you to bring self adressed envelopes. So they "send you the payments" If you ever get a check, which I doubt, cash it inmediately since the policy is that after a month they cancell any check and you are out of your money.

I left many more items in the store. Some of them, I was able to collect back because when I saw that my items had left the store and no money was collected or sent to me, I began my suspictions.

To resume, they sent me a total of $21,10 for the curio cabinet, the painting and a beautiful mexican clay vase.

Unsrupulus, unethical; this store owner, Ralf Behnert, and both clerks, ( one of them is his wife) would ripp you off.

Do not take your items there.

Lindsey's Attic on Del Prado Blvd in Cape Coral, FL is a home furnishings and furniture consignment shop. The are expert ripoff artists. They will take your property on consignment for a fixed time frame that is then supposedy renewable, except that they make it impossible to renew. When you call to renew, the person that you must speak to is never available and of course they will not return your call. They run out the clock on the time period you have to renew your contract. They then tell you that they donated your property to charity. When asked for a receipt for your donation for tax puurposes, they refuse. Beware of these thieves.
