Baran Technical was the school I started and after my first semester Lincoln took over and raised my tuition by 12 thousand dollars, I had to sign a loan to the school for 5k to graduate...
Not once did anyone even attempt to find me a job... The last time I called I was told "We no longer offer that program, Sorry." LIFETIME JOB PLACEMENT!!!
When I started school here, I thought I would be extremely satisfied when graduating. That turned out to be completely wrong. I was given two different instructors. Phil and Becky. Phil's class was awesome. I did really well with him being my instructor. And Becky's class, I barely passed. She played favorites and took sides. She was always flirting with the guys in my class and in fact, gave a few of them A's just for attending the last week of school. I can recall maybe one or two times that we did any Hands-On activities in which we were supposed to do the majority of classes. Becky had also ignored a lot of females concerns, questions and issues regarding curriculum or even classroom behavior. Numerous people had spoken very ill of Becky . She had also shared with the classes her personal issues involving her husband, which the majority of the class did not care about but some of the people fed into it just to be on her good side. I had complained to admissions and staff of all levels and got nowhere. I was not the only one with an issue ([current at time] or previously) regarding instructor Becky. Now I am obligated to pay over $8,000 for a course in which I feel I did not learn a d**n thing that I was supposed to. Not to mention the school was extremely ghetto and most people walked around there with their noses stuck high in the air having attitudes of a five-year-old that was denied candy.
I visited Lincoln Technical in September 2015 just to check out options on finding a school to help me start the medical career that I dreamt about. I was fast talked into signing up for classes right there with barely able to get any words in that I wasn't even sure if this was the school I wanted but maybe it's my own fault that I was easily won over by it being the first school I looked at and that most of the employees seemed very friendly. I am now in 18k debt, finished school five months ago and have received barely two interviews from my career advisor. I have to start paying back my debt next month and yet I have no a cent to my name and am receiving no help from school anymore. They even had the gall to not even send me a date for graduation that I just found out was yesterday! There was only one teacher in the whole school that I felt even was knowledgeable and professional. Most teachers either just stared at you for 6 hours a day as you sat on the computer doing work, one teacher spent half the days talking personal issues or trying to sell students clothing over actually teaching the billing and coding she was suppose to be there to teach! Hands-on training was a joke, most of the equipment was either broken or far too old. I feel like a complete fool and my self worth has suffered a lot from ever attending. I warn you to never go, find a school that treats you like an actual student trying to get a career in something that makes them happy over just a paycheck.
This school is a rip off! Save your money! $30,000 to go to this school for 1 year of automotive training. They promise to find you a job after course completion, but its all a lie!!!! My son finished school in October 2015 and 8 months later, he is still looking for work. Several calls and emails were made to the school about finding him a job and no response from them. The people who work in the Career service department dont stay there long. We have had contact with several difference career councelors and all of them have since left this school. This schools only concern is money!
My son has applied to several dealerships and private mechanic shops and every single one of them want no less than 2 years work experience. My son took out a $10,000 student loand and I took out a $20,000 loan to cover the cost, for him to go to this school. Save your money kids. Do your research, find a better school before you sign up for that $30,000 school loan with no job placement.
Good luck to all of you kids trying to better yourself and starting your careers in this field. It's tough field to break into!
I had read all of the complaint reports prior to deciding to enroll. I had figured that the people complaining were just complaining because they did not do the work required and still expected good grades. Or misbehaved and got upset when called out. Now I know personally that I should have heeded the warnings. Everything said is true. For the most part, the instructors are pretty nice. But, there is one who is evil and mean. She singles out those she has a personal vendetta towards. Especially those who just want to learn and not kiss her butt and bow down to her. Going to Dr. Baker does no good. They are best friends. If one talks to her about any concerns there is retaliation. I had straight A's. Then, in on swoop, all of my grades in that one course we're arbitrarily all turned to Fs. Even though I have the original papers to prove otherwise, they no longer count. So, now I no longer want to be a nurse. If these are the types of issues I have to deal with just by wanting to learn, I can't imagine how bad it will be once one goes into the work field. So, take it from a former doubters of others, this school is Not worth the time or money. Unless you enjoy being made to feel like an inferior piece of crap on a daily basis. And have no life.
