There’s honestly too much to type in this review, so I will be as blunt as I can... DO NOT BE FOOLED by these people. They are professional scam artists. Their sales person (Sharon, Sue, Jackie or whoever) will give you a very reasonable quote. They will show up to your storage unit with a uhaul and tell you there was a problem with the Lighthouse Van Line truck (there was never a truck). They will say you’re over the estimate, and you will end up paying way more than you were quoted. And then when you contest, after measuring yourself, the owner Leo (or Levani) will call you a liar... and then everyone of them will block your number. Also, you will wait much longer than anticipated because they hire a semi-truck driver to cram a lot of people’s things onto their truck and break a bunch of stuff... I know. Their nice website talks about veteran ownership (love!), and the company website says it’s located on veterans blvd (how neat!). That makes you feel comfortable and homey. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. I wish I had been more diligent in before I paid them $4200 cash. PLEASE, HELP YOURSELF WHEN SO MANY OF US DIDN’T. Really look into the five star reviewers on Google. Many of them are from other countries and normally only review from their home countries. THIS IS A SCAM. You may or may not actually get your stuff. But you will pay more in the long run and end up with a bunch of broken items and never see that money again.
Company promised a military discount, "White Glove Service", expert moving professionals who knew how to disassemble and reassemble sleep number beds, pack and transport a 50 year old Grandfather clock, delicate Antique furntiure.
We were GUARANTEED bed set up at destination, furniture placement and assembly. Direct quote from salesperson Sharon Salvario " you do not pay for the remainder until you are satisfied with the job". HAH! The first crew came in with 5 men- who THREW my King sleep number bed ( still assembled, mind you) over the second floor banister railing.
They dragged my Queen size sleep number down our staircase, again still assembled, scraping the beautiful tongue and groove paneling, and ripping an electric light fixture out of the wall. Half the items we asked them to take they forgot, or upcharged us.
Sharon specifically told me, on a recorded line, not to worry about insurance, " we were insured for $10,000". I found out later on, that was a joke- its against ACCIDENTS, NOT MY STUFF. Never mentioned I needed to purchase EXTRA INSURANCE.
When they got to our new place ( two days late) , ONE OF MY SLEEP NUMBER MATTRESSES WAS TIED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK... FILTHY , DIRTY , WET- RAINED ON. along with an ANTIQUE HEADBOARD, NOW CRACKED!! There were only TWO MEN!!
They came in and DEMANDED CASH OR NO BELONGINGS!!. Then they opened the truck doors and our stuff was crammed in, furniture upside down, I could see some things already broken. Containers crammed sideways including ones marked "extremely fragile", which one of the punters decides to repeatedly STAND ON OUR CONTAINERS LIKE A d**n LADDER!!!
He put his foot through one. They put a hole through a door in our new home, a hole in a wall, put several gauges in the beautiful floors.
As they were putting together my husband's lovely high boy dresser, right in front of us, we heard a loud CRACK! They unwrapped it and the leg was apart in three pieces, and they tried to TAPE IT TOGETHER!!!
They kept saying its alright "honey", boss", I thought my husband was going to cold c**k them. They never put the beds together, they refused, and not even half way through they decide THEY WERE DONE!! We were missing a TV, most of our stuff was still wrapped in moving blankets, and the beds were a mess. NOPE they were done.
They worked their 5 hours. AND THEY LEFT.....JOB UNFINISHED, DAMAGES, GARBAGE, COMPANY'S MOVING BLANKETS LEFT BEHIND. I called the company they have NO INTENTION OF FIXING EITHER HOME OR PAYING FOR REPAIRS. THEY ARE LAUGHING ABOUT REIMBURSING US FOR DAMAGES.
ANTIQUES DESTROYED, SLEEPNUMBER BEDS BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR, BOTH HOMES ( ONE THAT IS UP FOR SALE) A MESS. AND THEY THINK ITS FUNNY. Do Not Use these scoundrels.
Although Lighthouse Vanlines claims to be customer service oriented, it appears not to be the case as I have had several problems with them;
They misplaced / lost over 5 items including a 6' stainless table
They mis-shipped / delivered several items from another customer and were NON responsive to returning to retrieve the items. Nor did they respond to numerous phone call and email requests despite being immediately notified and having had a picture of the inventory tag of someone else's property emailed to them.
The driver said he would return by end of day to pick up those items - the items were never picked up
The driver also said he would return to assemble two pieces of furniture but did not do so despite several calls to both the driver and the Lighthouse corporate office
I have emails to back up my complaint to Lighthouse Vanlines - USDOT 1914057
