I worked for Dave the owner for roughly three months. He got the most amount of work out of me for the least amount of money. He pays overtime in straight pay cash and is not documented on payrole and come out to be less money the overtime wage after tax. Because overtime wasn't documented on payrole he took advantage of that and went 3 weeks without paying me overtime. Also be careful when you take you transmission there. Dave hired a builder named jay. Jay creates a very hostile work environment and Dave does nothing about. They have comebacks all of the time for the following reasons; jay doesn't and refuses to use a torque wrench when rebuilding transmissions instead he tightens them down with a 3/8 impact wrench. For this of you who don't know what a torque wrench is its an extremely vital tool to use when rebuilding transmissions. Torque wrenches have settings on them the set how tight you want that bolt to be tightened down and is measured in foot pounds (ft/lbs). The manufacturer has specified torque specifications for the bolts in a transmission and is extremely important that the bolts are tightened down to manufacturers torque specs when reassembling the transmission otherwise major damage could occur. The worse part is Dave the owner doesn't do anything about it and doesn't put his foot down and tell him to reassemble the transmission properly. These are the words Dave said as to why he won't do anything about it. "Jay makes me money. Without him I'm f*****. " Because dave said that, I came to conclude that Dave would rather try to make money by relying on his builder which really costs him money over making money by doing good work for his costomers and making a good reputation. Another reason he has comebacks is Dave expects top notch quality work out of cheap labor. Which basically means only one of his tech is a certified auto technician which is his builder jay. The others he hired are just guys he hired with little shop experience. If you drive by his shop you'll notice he has had the same vehicles there for months. That's because he takes on jobs he can't do. Dave has sent me to the junk yard for parts the he didn't want to pay for new and never paid me gas to do that even though he promised. To conclude this, the shop is just a really dirty cut throat shop and a hostile work environment.
