I ordered ostomy supplies, and was told they would get the prescription from my doctor, and I would receive themwithin 10 days.
After 10 days, I called and was told my doctor had never faxed in the prescription. Called my doctor, they had done everything, Called Liberty Medical again, was told there wasn't a signature on the prescription, called my doctor's office again, was told they had done this, called Liberty again, was told they never received the fax, called doctor's office and was given 5 different confirmation numbers for fax's. Gave them to Liberty Medical they said everything was fine, items were being shipped that day. Didn't receive them, called and was told there was a "hold" on the order, no one knew why.
After a week, I cancelled my order, and went with another company. Thirteen days later, a box arrived from Liberty Medical. I refused it, fortunately I got tracking numbers from the shipper.
My insurance company was promptly billed by Liberty Medical. So I called my insurance company about the issues. On a 3-way call with Liberty Medical, I was told that I had returned the box over 30 days after I had ordered it. I explained that they hadn't shipped it until 13 days after I had cancelled. Then they said I hadn't gotten an authorization number to return the box. My insurance carrier explained that I had never had physical control of the box, I had refussed it, I didn't need the number. Then Liberty Medical said they never received the box back. My insurance carrier said Liberty Medical had already said they had gotten the box, since they were claiming I'd sent it back after their 30 day time. Plus I had tracking to show when Liberty Medical received the box back, and the name of the person that signed for the box.
They said they would investigate my claims and call me back. They never did, but they did send me a bill because my insurance wouldn't cover the order. An order I cancelled, but was sent anyway, an order that they received back and acknowledge that they did receive, but still want me to pay for.
Fortunately, my insurance carrier is now trying to settle this. I do not know how this company stays in business. Everyone I talked to was either flippant or rude.
