I have a 2010 Lexus the Paint is Peeling off of it,A GX 460 with 38,000 miles on it,when i contacted Lexus they say To Bad you have a 4 year,50,000 mile warrenty on the paint !! Thats it ,they just don`t care,i own another Lexus and a Toyota currently and have been a loyal customer of the brand for 30 years. The Factory rep. said it was caused by an out side influance, when asked for a copy of the report they said no.I had a paint company examine the car the conclusion is that the Factory E-coat failed. You would think that the dealer or factory would try to help there customer. But not Lexus
Bought a brand new 2016 Lexus RX350. Here are the two major issues that would have prevented me from making the mistake of buying the vehicle.
1. Poor heat output of heated steering wheel and heated seats. MAJOR OVERSIGHT by Toyota/Lexus designers.
2. Vehicle will not start due to discharged battery if not started in several weeks. This is due to the installation of a Compustar remote starter by the dealer. Since it is a two-way key fob it commnicates with the vehicle causing exessive battery drain. This requires that the vehicle be put on a triclkle charge 365 days a year... jsust in case I don't drive it for a few weeks.
There is another annoying issue - the "browse" feature does not work with a music USB device. Since you cannot select the artist, song, genre or "shuffle" it means you have to listen to the same song list every time you drive the vehicle... starting from song #1...! Yet another oversight by Lexus engineers.
This is an expensive luxury vehicle that should not have these kinds of issues.
My main focus in buying this vehicle was reliability...instead I feel like I bought a lemon that won't even start if left unattended for a few weeks. No wonder it sits for weeks without being driven... I don't even want to drive it in winter ...because I freeze my ands and butt off!!!!
THINK TWICE ABOUT BUYING A LEXUS... if starting and comfort are important to you.
I am having a problem with Lexus. The dashboard in my RX330 is cracked. Lexus has admitted it is a defect, and has "extended the warranty." The problem is--there are hundreds, perhaps thousands,of people in line to get replacement dashboards. They must be making about 2 dashboards a week. Lexus and my local dealer say i just have to wait.
Basically, I have a nice Lexus that has an ugly cracked dashboard and a hollow promise that it will be fixed. It will be years or decades before i get to the top of the list. I suppose their intent is to say they will fix it, but delay so much that you have to sell your car before they actually have to do what they say they will do. Disappointing. Lexus just says "you'll have to wait" and shrugs their shoulders.
This is deceptive to say that they will warranty a defective product, but make warrany repair parts so incredibly slowly that there is effectively no warranty whatsoever.
I purchased my brand new Lexus 2013 RX350 September 2012. After 3 years/30,000 miles of use my car started to have a smelly order from the vents. I changed the cabin filter hoping this would go away, IT DIDN'T. Since it's still under warranty 4 yrs/50,000 miles I took it into the dealership of where I purchased it for service. Here's Lexus position on this matter: "This is a known issue from Lexus, but unfortunately we do not have a fix. All I can offer you is to change out the cabin filter and advise you to keep the car from recirculating the cabin air. Oh, and we're very sorry about this." (note: if you have this problem with your car they WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. Do your due diligence about this as it seems to be a major problem that they're hiding before buying this brand.)
I have since driven another 2K miles but can no longer stand the smell. I feel it's probably making me sick with respiratory problems. Research online says that Lexus has known about this issue for awhile and the response from others is the same. The problem is with the condenser Lexus puts into their vehicles not having proper drainage therefore, mildew from the moisture starts to grow on it.
I have explained my situation to my dealership and tried to get into contact with the Service Manager there but have not gotten a return phone call. I've have also contacted Lexus corporate about this issue but I'm not feeling confident as they seem to have the same cookie cutter answer as the dealership.
This was my second purchase from Lexus and IT WILL BE MY LAST. The way I was treated with service at my dealership not taking responsibility for the problem and blaming me like I built the defective condensor. Then telling me it's a Lexus corporate problem and there nothing they can do even though I have a bumper to bumper warranty still. Anyone else with this problem lets all banned together and make them fix it.
I have been a loyal Lexus customer for the past 7-8 years. Leased a 2015 Lexus NX 200t SUV in late July, and have taken it to my Lexus dealer (Herb Chambers Lexus, Sharon, MA) to fix a vibration issue.
This vibration is felt in the gas pedal, seat, and steering wheel @ 60 MPH or greater. After five (5) attempts, and the Dealer's inability to fix the issue - I was referred to Lexus headquarters, and told that, "the vibrations doesn't substantially impairs the use, safety, or value" and "is a normal characteristic of this particular model."
I have made it clear from the start, that, if they can't repair the vehicle (which I would prefer), I would like the vehicle to be replaced by a SUV which doesn't vibrates.
I was thereafter referred by #LexusUSA to the Arbitration body, National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS) - who basically rubber stamped Lexus stance.
I was advised by Lemon Law lawyers that this is a typical occurrence.
Please find attached, one of the Independent Report from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE); however, I should accept this "feature."
