Level Group, LLC Reviews
Contracted with the Glen DelaRosa / The Level Group for 2 services:
1. Remove existing cedar from home and replace with Hardieboard siding, including installation of Meritec trim
2. Add a stone veneer including 2 structural columns and roof overhang to the front of the home
They were the WORST organization we have ever worked with (we've done multiple large projects with many contractors). Biggest issues:
1. Work done incorrectly / not to spec and us having to point out to him what was done wrong (no project oversight / management whatsoever). At one point we had water leaking from the 2nd story/attic of the house all the way to the basement because they did nothing to protect the home while installation was ongoing and he told us there was nothing he could do. Much of the Hardieboard siding was also installed incorrectly, likely voiding the 30 yr manuf warranty (one of the primary reasons we chose this particular product); he is also completely against obtaining the correct permits for the work being done (we obtained permits anyway, but this speaks to his general lack of professionalism)
2. Work was supposed to have been completed in June (contract was signed at the end of April), work was not 'completed' until December - he later informed us one of his tactics for not completing work or completing it YEARS from the contract date is not including a completion date in any of his contracts (oversight on our part, complete dishonesty on his part)
3. 2 items specifically included in the contract (window trim and matching roofing) were never done when he DEMANDED final payment. We continued to inform him these two items were still outstanding (and he agreed they had not been done) and he said if we did not pay he would place liens on our house and have his subcontractors place liens on the house.
4. We spoke with several lawyers who were certain we had a case based on our signed contract and additional evidence we were able to provide, but the cost of litigation would likely have been higher than the remaining amount we owed - this seems to be the exact tactic he relies on (we had a neighbor with the exact same issue with him as well).
5. Completely unprofessional - we had to meet with him on a Sunday evening as we were still trying to get him to negotiate the remaining work being completed vs. his threat of placing liens against our home on Monday. Due to the timeframe, we had to bring our 3 children (ages 2 - 10) with us when we met at a Starbucks. During the course of the discussion, he used the F word multiple times, I told him not to speak that way in front of our children, he continued to do it louder and on purpose and when I repeated myself he asked if my husband was going to punch him in the face for doing it. Not only does his work lack all professional quality, his demeanor was very unprofessional during the course of the work.
YOU SHOULD AVOID GLEN DELAROSA / THE LEVEL GROUP AT ALL COSTS.
