Lets Get Moving Reviews

  • Jan 7, 2019

We hired this company to provide us with 4 individuals to load a moving truck with our furniture. My wife handles our finances, and she talked to him 3 times. He asked if we had a piano, and we said yes. To set context, the piano we had was free. The house we were moving to had one that we could buy from the selling family for $150. Brian told my wife we would need at least 4 guys for a piano, and it would be $160/hour. She agreed to that.

On moving day, the crew showed up, and the had my wife sign paperwork to authorize the move. During the move I heard a crash outside and looked out kitchen window, and saw two of their workers looking at our entertainment center which was wrapped in a blanket. One corner did NOT look right, I said, I think they just dropped it. I waited to see what they were going to do. They stood there for a minute talking. I finally walked out and said, you guys need a hand? The said no and started to lift it, and I said, that corner doesn't look right. They took blanket off and it was broken, they said, oh we dropped it, but didn't think it damaged it.

You would think that should have been our first warning. NOPE. First warning should have been the email address for the business, which starts with skeletor592...Really? That is your business email? Residential address and cell phone? And lots of bad reviews everywhere. But I digress.

At the end of the move, we went to pay, and were told it was an additional $250.00 for the piano. We told the owner on the phone we were not paying that. We did not authorize that charge to load a FREE piano, and at no time were told that. He arrived on site and threatened to call the police. I told him he was dishonest and I was NOT paying that fee, we were never told. He pointed out that it was on the paperwork we signed when we got there. Except the ONLY page NOT signed was the form that showed the additional expense!!

He called the police, I told him what I thought of his buisness practices, and he put his clipboard down and threatened to fight me in the middle of the street! I wish I was making this up. Here is the big warning. The police showed up and told us we HAD to pay becaue it would be theft of services. To be clear, we were more than happy to pay the fees for the workers. We pointed out to the police that he had us sign every page except the one with the piano fee on it. Didn't matter, which is crazy.

As an aside, that policy will just EMBOLDEN him. I gaurantee, IF he is still in business a year from now, I wll read about this, except it will be $500, or $1000. Why wouldn't he?

We requested that if we had to pay for the piano, we wanted him to note on the paperwork the entertainment center was damaged so we could file a claim. The officer took the paper to Brian, then brought it back to us. He wrote the item on the paperwork as a previously damaged item! You could see the look on the officers face at that point, that he realized he was assisting this company in scamming us, and there wasn't anything he could do about it. He took the paperwork back to Brian and he fixed it. Do not use this company for anything EVER.

Maybe one of the most blatant scams I have ever been victim to. I hear stories about stuff like this, but to experience it is a totally different issue.
