On 7/13/15, I foolishly purchased $514 worth of online products from legalzoom.com. I bought the comprehensive living trust package and the transfer deed package in California. I still had not received anything by 8/5/15 and their email confirmations didn't specify when I would be receiving said documents. So I called customer service on 8/5/15 and 8/6/15. I talked to 7 customer service people and got the run around. Legalzoom referred me to the godeeds department because they thought that department would have the answer. The godeeds department did the same. I also got the distinct feeling that the supervisor at godeeds, Michael, was just making stuff up with each question I gave him and when I told him about the contradictory information I got from various customer service people, e.g., "it takes only 2 business days for you to get those documents from date of purchase; it takes 4-6 weeks for godeeds to prepare the transfer deed; it took only 1 business day to prepare the transfer deed and I sent it to the legalzoom department; sometimes it takes 6 weeks to get the title documents from the recorder of the city." I was on the phone for 2 hours and no one still had the answer to why I never got my documents. Hence, my only choice was to cancel my orders since I never got them and 6 customer service people had no answers for me except to keep passing me into another clueless customer service rep. I decided to finally just cancel the orders and get a refund. So I called customer service again and Spencer, a female, answered the phone. I explained to her the whole situation and at the end of it all, despite my reminding her that legalzoom has advertised on their website a 100% satisfaction guarantee and that a customer can get a refund within 60 days of purchase, she says, "no, I am not giving you a refund or canceling your order." So I email customer service asking for the same thing. They completely ignore my request and say, sorry you had a bad experience. So I contacted my credit card company and let them know I am disputing these charges. I also filed complaints with BBB, the CA AG's office, and a Consumer Protection office. Hopefully I get my refund especially since I never actually got the products I ordered. I definitely believe everything that the ex-employee said cuz I experienced it first hand. I don't know how this company gets away with this behavior which should be considered criminal.

I was charged $159 by LegalZoom for an unknown service. I have not been able to verify the charges with them as their customer service could not "verify" me by the current emails and phone numbers that I am using.

Based upon them not helping me as a customer (I was a customer back in 2012), and not doing any business with them since, I was forced to dispute the charge.

Funny thing is that the charge was made to a canceled card that had been previously compromised and replaced with a new number, but the bank allowed the charge to be made to my current account.

I've noticed dozens of people reporting this same $159 for "registered agent" services.... I never finalized my LLC nor did I ask for any additional services by them.

What a scam. They need a class action lawsuit with punitive damages to get them back into a "legal" company.

You pay Legal Zoom over a thousand dollars to process application for 501(c)3 business status and after six(6) months of no emails or phone calls, you get a complete customer service of circular reasoning and no response.

It totally frustrating and you cannot break through to anyone of authority to tell you the status of your account once they have your money.

The "CUSTOMER CARE TEAM" is a total JOKE !!!!

Carlos Villegas, Manager Customer Care Legal Zoom. Responded to a letter from the California Attorney General. This was in response to a complaint that Legal Zoom had ripped me off for $14.99 per month for 3 months with (no knowldge on my part) and then refused to refund the $14.99. I contacted them and they were very evasive, beligerent and then hung ip on me. I had the bank stop payment and refund the money and then reported them to Attorney General California. I was told by consumer fraud department legal zoom was very unreputable, had been sued many times for simular fraud. I filed a complaint with attorney general after speaking with consumer complaint department.

The Manager Carlos Villegas responded to attorney general question and my compalint with more run around, lies and mis truths.

These are very sleezy people and the business is not reputable.

After my dealing with them for power of attorney, I find their product very expensive, not prepared well and riddled with errors.

Best advice- avoid these people like the plague.

I used the LegalZoom services in 2012. Now, in 2015 I suddenly get a $159 fee charged to my card without notice and for a service that has been dissolved for months now. I've read a lot of other reports against LegalZoom for the same thing. You can't just charge people without authorization and 3 years down the road without notice.

I will be contacting their support first thing Monday as of course their support isn't in on the weekends (but I bet they'd be there to take an order!). I am hoping they will reslove the problem by issuing a total refund of the unauthorized charges. Like most working people, I don't have time to go chasing down crap like this just to get my money back. I will be disputing the charges if they do not refund my account, but the damage is already done and I'll never use their services again.
