LegalShield Reviews

LegalShield fail to address my Employment legal issues. I advised that I work for TDCJ and had Employer & Employee Conflict, due to Incompetency raised issue that needed to be determine before TDCJ could offer Mediation. After this process a court hearing could be process and the conflict on the Job Termination could continue. I was told that there was nothing they could do. I called back and asked for a referral for an Employment Litigation for Plaintiff attorney. They issue me a referral for and I had to file on this attorney for misconduct due to refusing to represent a client for professional motives(most attorney don't want to go against a State Agency, but they need to be held accountable) and he gave false and misleading statement (the Statute of Limitation ran out). I informed him that COVID shut down everything for 2 years and they had to work out procedures for the Americans, so they can resume their business, which did not take Statute of Limitation outside the time frame. I had to file Grievance with the Chief Disciplinary Consel and still nothing got done..

Good morning Last week I was looking for legal services inexpensive and I find this company offering legal services for just $ 24-month and I thought was a good deal for so an I called and they explain to me just for this money a month I could receive a legal service.

I give my bank account information but after they took the money they do not call me back so I called them and they told me a lawyer will call me but they never did. The next day they send e an email with information about stores with discounts.

I want my money back I know is not much but I think is really bad they are doing for people like me I am disabled do not have any help from any way just for my husband and kids. I want them to stop thieves with white collar Thank you very much. Maritza Renfrew

When I first was invite to join legal shield they gave me a story of the founder being in a car reck and the lady that him sued him and he had no legal insurance and found him self in a bad spot. Number one as a vive presdient of the company in okla should now the truth that was a pre lie. The founder sued her and lost and found him self in a pickel that what happened tell the truth. I was told I had attorney in the polm of my hand. I advertised that and was called by corperat that we could not do that. I asked why not my vice president of okla said that to me in out last meeting was blowed off again. I tried to use my services 4 times 3 times I was blowed off today I called in telling them I wanted to sue legal shield for fraud and wasting my time and money and hurting my family still wating for a call back on that one. I have had customer calling me crying that corperate would not help them. I called corperate begging for help for them with no result. I even at one time had the vice president of okla on a 3 way telling my customer to find her own attorney out side of legal shield. I could go on and on about the fraud I have witnessed. I finally got fed up to day and called dave hall and left a message telling him one star frauded alot of people in indiana and texas warned them level 3 would be in and they did not belive in and keep doing there sh*yt well guess what all toys where taken and the off they went to bad boys place. I have begged and begged for change and stop lieing to people I asking for ever dime I spent on legal shield as a customer and as a associate to be retunred in full plus damages . for one I was the top recuriter and when I was doing well the shut me down you can advertise on craigslist or facebook you can not boost only they can. There mission is to get you going then shut you down well guess what my customers are leaving with me you scammed me you scammed them enough is enough.

Please if you been scammed by these people please report it dont blow it off. email me [email protected] I have already contacted a mlm attorney building a class action law suite. this is not the first time the been sued. I brought one other case up to them and they lied to me and said he did something to be thrown out and that was a bur lie. I found out the truth and that was not why. If you step forward you can save a family a being hurt. They hurt my family and two childern. they stole money out of our pockets by pushing a lie. They promise you a free constultaion nation wide and the screen there attorneys and that is a lie my client had a consutaion with a 1 star attorney that was the worest attorney money can buy. I called them and told offered to send screen shots to them and all I was told is there is nothing they can do about it. They have the employees at corperat office sitting on junky chairs torn up this mid ocean partners who bout pre paid legal shield does not give a rat _ _ _ about no one but them selfs. I could write a book of what I have seen in 4 months of being with this company. I dont think Mid ocean partners want = justice the bottom line is $$$$$$$ do know this company has already been invisigated once before for wrong doing? I know I am caceling my services and taking them to court and going back to leval security 3 for help on this case. I know as a christain I could not countinue selling a lie and once I stood up to them the called me put me on hold because some cusomer are not paying no s**t there not paying your service you do not keep wour word on them you do not keep your word on trainin you do not keep your word on any thing. I am sad and let down. I pissed but less faced pissed means hurt and let down. I will say this I die making sure people know the truth about the fake promises. one last thing my 13 year old child was at school and a gun was brought to school and the kid threaten to shoot every one. I called the scool and told them I was apart of legal shield and they had 24 hours to call me. They never called me and called there rep and I was told if he lost that account it would be my a*s. So is this why I been treated this way? my 13 year old son life not worth anything? I called corperate office about it nothing happen. I think this company only cares about numbers. I was adviced I had a case against both parties however I want this fixed where this company can run right because I do belive ever American deserves = justice but am I fighting a loosing battle and I should make this a class action law suite? One thing they did prove is $$$$ is more imprtant then a 13 year old boys life.

Legal shield and powers chapman work together. they work around there hours not yours.

most of the times they do not have attorney in your areas and they expect you to go visit an attorney over an hour away.

if you only need something letter put together. good luck! you have to work around there hours if you get the job accomplished. I cancelled my monthly subscription due top lack of service. I would never recommend them. find an attorney anywhere and work your price. this place is a joke!

First of all, I have zero problems with businesses making a profit and that includes legitimate MLM companies. The problem I have with LegalShield is being sold one thing and receiving far less than what I was told I purchased. What made matters worse was that when I discovered this issue, my LegalShield rep tried to switch me to a new product, basically decreasing the legal protection services I thought I had bought. This was recommended so I could receive even minimal legal assistance. By minimal, I mean speaking briefly on the phone with an attorney. When I contested this, it became painfully obvious that my rep was employing a lame delaying tactic as I was placed on hold with awful music to "think" about my options. After receiving more attempted up-sell I stated directly that I wanted to cancel my membership. More delays and forms to fill out. Nope. I hung up and went directly to my credit card company to dispute the membership charge So, the bottom line? I experienced a shabby, transparent sales scheme that makes me doubt the quality of legal assistance I would have received had I actually spoken with an attorney. If I were you, I would save yourself the time and trouble of dealing with this company. And do not in any circumstance buy your membership by check or other direct funds. Paying by credit card at least allows you to recover your membership fee.

My business partner defrauded the company I started 100% with my own capital. He stole money from the company accounts for months and then stole products from the company to sell privately. By the time I learned what was going on, the company was bankrupt. Desperate for legal counsel, I began submitting requests online for legal help. Legal Shield contacted me, listened to me detail my case, then told me they could help me. It wasn’t until later that I learned the individual who was speaking to me so consolingly was a sales agent and not a lawyer.

It took me several attempts over two weeks to sign up with Legal Shield. They made multiple technical mistakes advising me about the packages to purchase, and I had to buy new memberships both for myself (personal) and my defunct business. This should have been a warning, since the sales people don't appear knowledgeable about the products they're selling, let along the actual legal processes involved for which consumers are contracting. While Legal Shield representatives are very friendly while you're signing up for service, don’t expect that level of courtesy if there's a problem or from their legal affiliates.

I was assigned a law firm in Chicago. From the very beginning, the service couldn’t have been ruder. It’s understandable the lawyers are all busy, but it’s very clear when they speak with you that you’re bothering them. The attorney assigned to my case was condescending and dismissive. He would regularly interrupt me and several times told me, “I don’t know what that means,” in reference to other legal documents I shared with him–business documents already registered with my state. I asked him explicitly what I should do at several times, and it was like pulling teeth. He acted as if I were bothering him and he wanted to rush me off the phone. He claimed not to understand most of what I was asking him and not to understand a business ontract I'd already filed with my state successfully. And it is very clear the law firm you’re assigned to wants to redirect you to contracting with affiliated attorneys. It's as if the law firm Legal Shield assigns you to works especially hard to be demeaning and abrasive and to feign ignorance about your legal matter so they can justify telling you to pay thousands to contract with other attorneys. One wonders what financial arrangment these up-sold attorney offices have with both Legal Shield and the law firm Legal Shield initially assigns you to.

The first few attorneys the Chicago law firm Legal Shield assigned me to never even got back to me. Clearly, I didn't matter at all to these people. There is a massive disconnect between the sales end of Legal Shield and the actual legal services, over which Legal Shield has little control. Finally, a Saint Louis, MO law firm agreed to work with me. Thousands of dollars later, all that came of that consult was a default judgment because the party being sued refused to show up in court, realizing the legal team could do noting to coerce him. Since the lawyer I consulted with chose to pursue the issue as a civil rather than criminal matter (despite detailed banking statements showing unauthorized withdrawals and an obvious theft of company products and property–all purchased with my personal credit cards), the default judgment is toothless. I would have to spend many thousands more just to TRY to get the other party to pay pennies on the dollar.

Moreover, the original Chicago law firm advised me to let my business lapse by not paying the fee on the business. When I tried to file my taxes for the current year, I learned this was not the correct way to close a business. You must file paperwork with the state and final taxes; failure to file appropriate paperwork leaves you open to potentially costly tax audits going forward. I contacted both Legal Shield and their partner law firm on learning this from several CPAs and business tax specialists but was quickly rebuffed, told I had been counseled about officially dissolving the company. I had explicitly asked for advice on how to proceed, never recall a conversation about formal dissolution, and more, the hurried counsel I did get repeatedly–letting the company lapse–has since placed me in a precarious position regarding taxes. Legal Shield denies any responsibility here, of course, and the law firm I’d originally dealt with (partners with Legal Shield) callously denies any responsibility for the advice they gave and which I followed. One of their managing attorneys claims that the dissolution conversation is in their notes and they had no responsibility to share any counsel with me in writing, and they are not responsible if I didn't understand what was being said. So much for Legal Shield's advertisement about being in your corner (from their website on 14 March 2017, "Life is unpredictable. You never know what's around the corner. LegalShield gives you the confidence of knowing whatever comes your way, your provider law firm is there when you need it.") In the final discussion with Legal Shield’s corporate relations department, Corporate Relations Specialist Joe Kennedy told me the law firm Legal Shield puts clients in contact with "does not advise clients on how to proceed on the legal matters we present with." For that, Mr. Kennedy said, we need to retain a private attorney (costly). So, I might as well have contracted with an attorney myself in advance.

So Legal Shield has washed its hands of the entire matter they originally claimed they could help me with, after having happily accepted months and months of payments from me only to have me find myself now facing bankruptcy. This company and its legal network substantiate the stereotype of the purely mercenary legal organization. Its sales department feigns concern for you only to get you to sign up with a recurring membership and hopefully up-sell you on vastly more expensive private legal services via Legal Shield’s subsidiary legal phone services companies which treat you like so much social detritus. Citizens ought not only to share widely our experiences with Legal Shield and its subsidiaries but also to contact the appropriate legal oversight boards in our home states to lodge formal complaints.

Legal Shield continued to charge a closed AMEX account, using a fictional expiration date, which apparently is allowed by AMEX. I have not used their services in fifteen years. Promised a two month refund.

The guy was told to leave me alone and he continued to bother me and that is reason enough to complain.

I came here to find that they already have othee complaints aginst them.

Something should be done I mean not only is it relavent that this company is robbing people of what they pay for service but potentionaly they are robbing people that they recruit to work for them

We had identity theft of SS # used for tax filing. Our tax returns were rejected because some one else used #'s. When we received notice from IRS we contacted LegalShiteld. The representative said she couldn't help and referred me to the "provider law firm" in Louisiana. the attorney called back and said he couldn't do anything. we contacted our accountant to follow up with IRS. We had to refile taxes on paper / manually (not electronically). filled out forms to report fraud, etc... The bill was $250 to correct the filing due to the identity theft and reclaim our SS#'s for future use. All this was done after I initially contacted LegalShiteld Identity Theft Hotline for assisstance on the one thing they were supposed to help with. They refuse to pay for the cost associated with the idenity theft. The sale brochure / membership Information booklet includes lots of paragraphs on what all they will do {PROACTIVE SEARCHES, REDUCE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, WORK ON YOUR BEHALF, AN EXPERT WILL TAKE THE STEPS TO HELP RESTORE ...} I was transferred 5 times and have made 5 phone calls with no help. No one has offered to do any of the things the sales pitch and material details. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Legal Shield is a plan that sells their plan as a pre-paid attorney service that when you need it they will be there. they even tell you that you accumalate extra hours of attorney service each year you pay and don.t use it.

On May 17, 2015 at 6:38 Sunday morning i received a rd light ticket in the city of Santa Ana so i called the plan approved law fprm Parker Stanbury and talked to thier attorney. I told her that the red light program in Santa Ana was having a lot of problems because to judicate was costing more money than it brought in and that the ciy was cosidering not renewing the program and dropping it alltogether, and they did just that.

I told the Parke attorney that i had recieved several offers in the mail from attorneys wanting to represent me and would guarantte me a dismissal or a refund of my fee. I even sent copies to her.

The Parker Stanbury attorney asked me "what is your defense" i replied "you are the attorney, why are you asking me" She then said "you have no case" but i would be happy to refer you and you could get a 25% discount. Are they serious i didn't prepay 38 months so i could get a 25% discount.

This is a total scam and when i wrote to corporate the said that the 25% feature was a "major benefit.

When you do the math and add up all the i prepaid and then normal legal fees minus 25% , i pay much more than if i never had a plan and just hire a attorny on my own.Total worthless scam that didn't deliver any of their promises.

The only service this company provides is it takes your money and gives you nothing but headaches in return. Period. The attorney at Parker Stansbury said, "Some people think they will get legal representation for 20 bucks a month. They will not". His name is Mathew May in Los Angeles. He was the only attorney that showed the least bit of competence. It went downhill from there. They WILL GET YOUR MONEY BY MAKING FALSE PROMISES. THEY ARE LIARS AND CHEATS.

Do Not Utilize PPLS / Legal Shield / Parker/Stanbury - Attempted to use - found the Attorneys unprofessional / combative / Elitist / Non-compliant / You Will Not Get Your Job Done - It Is The McDonalds Of Legal Assistance

A friend has paid his monthly due for years -

Question: Have you ever used them / Answer: “No I tried years ago a few time when I had a problem but they really couldn’t do anything” / - Why do you keep paying them - Answer: “I kept meaning to cancel them but they do automatic withdrawal” / another associate - A Doctor - Nobelette attempting to find resolve for some personal legal matters - Question: Have you tried Parker Stanbury - PPLS -

Answer: Yes, they weren’t any help at all - they’re no good /

— Heard the same story from many people - On attempting to resolve speaking to supervisors - no communication / no resolve until consulting a real attorney issues had slipped passed statutes of filing.

— Aside from all the cases that can no longer be heard passing the limitations of file time - their so called credit protection is a definite joke - aside from trying to deal with that issue for over a year - the complete refusal - I have now found someone setting up business accounts renting apartments and attempting to get loans in hundreds of thousands of dollars - Do Not frustrate yourself and endanger your credit and don’t waste your money on this company: Prepaid Legal Service / Legal Shield / Parker Stanbury.

— They are there to continue to regularly take their monthly payments in mass and offer no actual services - People Pay Them Monthly To Get The Feeling of Protection - It is False.

They do not provide real legal service.

I lost my wife to cancer last year after her 3 year battle as well as having succumbed to cancer myself and I lost a kidney. During that time I let my PPL membership lapse because I could no longer afford the service and was distraught with grief after losing my wife of 37 years.

I have been healing both emotionally and physically for the last year. Last week I called into PPL in order to restart my membership and had paid over the phone and was told my membership would be available the next day.

Today, after hearing nothing, I called in to verify that all was ok. I was told I had been denied and even after escalating to several layers of management no one would tell me why. I have been black listed for reasons unknown.

I have done nothing illegal or broken any laws so I am at a loss as to why. No one will tell me. When I signed up for the service their was no usage limit placed on the membership. I had used the service a lot when my wife was dieing of cancer so apparently. they do not want a member to use the membership.

I had the membership for about a decade and am a loss as to why they will not even tell me the reason???? This is neither ethical or honorable on their part.

The number I called was 800-654-7757. They are NO longer the prepaid legal they once were.
