It all started with me calling their main phoneline. They don't accept calls from everyone to begin with. They ask you to leave a brief message of why you are calling then state that it can take up to 3 business days to receive a call back. They don't even listen to your brief message and just simply say, "I'm returning your call." and then if you ask about if they heard the message you left they literally get upset saying, "What?! I am returning your call." They are attorneys/lawyers that literally have no education in law. A 13 year old who really wants to beat his own case has a better understanding of the law, supreme court cases, and they offering no reassuring information. The person who returned my call sounded really irritated and to be honest didn't have a clue what I was talking about. She didn't know what Nevada laws I was talking about which is funny because I was stating every single code and law it was like she didn't even want to look them up to make sure they were real.
They don't want to hear your current situation as if they were robots. The person I was talking to sounded like she wanted to get the call over with super fast. She was like a one track railroad stating one law over and over; Completely ignoring the if this occurs in the law. They offer no help at all, but that is okay because we are humans and we literally can do our own research.
I truly feel Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is a fraud non profit.
Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada lied to me and told that they don't have any pro bono volunteer attorneys to help people. I filed a grievance with executive director Barbara Buckley. She had the nerve to lie to me and tell me she doesn't have any volunteer attorneys. It took her less than 15 minutes to email me and tell me she doesn't have any attorneys. She didn't even send out any emails to look for an attorney for me. She just LIED. Furthermore, this non profit receives over 13 million in grant money every year, but they complain that they don't any attorneys to help indigent people.
She could of helped me but she didn't want to. Barbara Buckley is a bad person.
I appealed her decision to the chairman of the board Max Couvillier.
I'm a woman and the male chairman of the board, Max Couvillier, raised his voice to me on the phone and made fun of me for having to ask for pro bono help.
He said over and over, YOU'RE ASKING FOR A FREE ATTORNEY! YOU'RE ASKING FOR A FREE ATTORNEY!! HE AS MAKING FUN OF ME! That non profit receives over 13 million and they are suppose to use that money to help indigent people. But they don't. They keep it for themselves. He wouldn't help me. He's a business litigation attorney as well as Barbara Buckley. They both could of helped me but they didn't want to. They didn't even try. They didn't even try to locate a pro bono attorney for me.
