LEASE FINANCE GROUP, LLC Reviews

  • May 31, 2018

This company is horrible. We were locked in a 48 month lease with them by our credit card processing company. Their contract included the lease of the equipment from Lease Finance Group. The lease was up 5-23-18. We paid over $5500 for a piece of equipment that probably cost no more than $250. WE are currently with a company that did not require us to lease equipment, and our equipment cost $250. We notified them in April that we would not be continuing to do business with them. I was told at that time that I could terminate the lease right then, and $258.65 would be taken out of our account to complete the lease, or I could choose to return it at the time of the expiration, and pay the one month like we have been doing for 4 years.

We chose to wait until the end of the lease to return the equipment. We packaged up the equipment along with a $150 RESTOCKING FEE, and fedex'ed it off to them. They received it on 5-30-18. On 6-1-18, they again took $116 out of our account. When I called to tell them they needed to refund that amount, I was told no, if I hadn't wanted to pay another billing cycle, the equipment would have needed to be back to them on 5-23-18. No amount of arguing with these people does any good. They're never going to do the right thing, they don't care what kind of a reputation they have, look them up, it's the worst. Never do business with them.

A door to door salesman told me that they could lower my credit card rates. All I had to do was sign this contract that allowed them to look at my current credit card statements and see if they could lower the rates. What I was not told is that it was actually a lease agreement for 48 months at 90.00 per month.AND I was personally guaranteeing the lease.

I was surprised when a week or so later new credit card equipment showed up. I contacted "ROSE" to get the equipment returned, she gave me the address and I sent it back unused and she assured .me everything was "OK". Now 2 years later they say they never received the equipment!.

For months Lease Finance Group took the money out of my business checking, it was hidden with a cryptic code on the bank statements that resembled to me as credit card fees. When I discovered this was in fact not credit card fees, I canceled authorization with my bank.

This is when Lease Finance Group began calling the business several times a day. Sometimes they would not speak, other times they discussed the alleged "DEBT" with my employees that answered the phone, other times they simply wanted to speak to me.

I asked them not to call since it was causing distress at my place of business, I told them I disputed the charges. That's when I started getting even more abusive calls. I was so tired of the endless calling that I even finally offered a money compromise just to end the harassment. I was told, "I (LFG Agent) would rather sue you for everything you own rather than take less money. Prepare to go to New York City with your attorney." And he hung up the phone.

Now I have been receiving threatening letters at home and at work and calls continue. They have told employees that work for me that, "YOUR DEADBEAT BOSS OWES US MONEY HAVE HIM CALL US BACK". It has caused endless embarrassment and humiliation. I have even undergone a health heart stress test due to this causing me chest pains.

The latest paperwork I received was a "Draft" of the complaint In The Circuit Court Of Cook County, Il. Saying they will sue me. Apparently, the New York Attorney General has sued them and they stopped using New York Courts.

I wish I had never heard of Lease Finance Group.

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE CROOKS ALL THE WAY FROM THE SALESMEN TO THE TOP MANAGEMENT

As I gaze at these "papers" that were delivered to my mailbox (without the courtesy of "Registered Mail," "Return Receipt," or even a process server!) I am taken by several things:

(1) There is no Court of jurisdiction noted on the envelope, simply a P.O. Box.

(2) The cover sheet is "dated" August 29th, 2017. The "filing" is shown as September 13th, 2017. Today's date is December 8th, 2017 - almost 3 MONTHS after the "filing."

(3) My wife was to appear within 30 days after "proof of service" was made - service that never happened. This was simple "general delivery" mail, NOT service that could be verified. There is NO proof that service had been made from the date of filing to now, and even this is not a proper "service."

(4) After examining the copy of the "Non-Cancellable Lease" provided with the filings, we can state with absolute certainty that my wife's "signatures" on the document are FORGERIES. They are not even close.

Per their modus operandi, their "Agent" could not leave a copy of the original lease, as it had to be documented, recorded, etc. The equipment was used for a singular transaction - a $1.00 "sale" to verify it worked. It didn't. The "Agent came out and replaced the unit to "fix a bad chip," and then departed, leacving, once again, no copy of the lease. It again would not work, so the wife called the "Agent," wanting to return the system as defective and within the advertised 30-day warranty. At that time, she was informed the machines were non-returnable.

Wife made numerous further calls to the "Agent," leaving message after message for her to come and get her equipment. She never showed, and we have never heard from her again. Whom we HAVE heard from, over and over, were the LFG, LLC people constantly DEMANDING "their" money.

So.

For a $1.00 "test sale," these rip-off artists are attempting to soak us for $8,125.12?

An Independent contractor who doesn't work for lease finance group showed up to my restaurant during busy hour.

He then told me he is going to give me a new machine. He told me that this new machine will be much better than the one I have

And told me about the great deal I will get. I signed up for it in a rush not even getting a chance to see the contract since it was

done electronically.

Continue to pay the credit card processing charges plus $140 a month for this machine that could've been bought brand-new for $300!

now after 3 years when I call them and tell them that I need to get a different system they tell me that I got to pay them another

$5.7K to cancel this contract! I have already paid them over $4K. They don't care they keep calling me every day.

These guys are the biggest liars and scammers! stay away from them and don't sign any contract with them.

They are very rude And take advantage of people.

I really wish there was something that could be done to stop them from calling and harassing me. I've even offered to

settle for a small amount of money but they will not do that.

I entered into a non-cancellable lease for a credit card machine in Oct. 2011 for 60 mos. One year after I signed the equipment became obsolete. I continued to pay for 48 mos. $49.95 . I have paid for the machine many times over. I quit 8 Mos. before the completion of lease.

I talked to customer service and returned the equipment. They were very rude and wanted penality and interest.

NO WORKING A SETTLEMENT! I orginally only owed $539

I refused to settle for the large amout that they insisted on ! over $1000!

Now I have a law suit against me.

I am being summoned to court in the city of new york in 20 days. (I live in Florida)

I have written to the State Attorney office in NY and Florida.

I have also written to the clerk of the court in the civil court where I am suppose to appear.

It is a hardship for me and I am a senior citizen. I will not be there and take my chances.

I will let you all know the outcome.

I was misinformed by Lease Finance Group. I signed the contract in addition to a verbal agreement that they would buy the contract that I was currently in if I went with their services. They also did not review the contract with me nor did they give me sufficient time to read the contract. I wasn't even aware that I had signed a contract, I thought I had signed a letter of intent and the sales rep told me I had thirty days. This was on a Friday and on Monday I called to tell them I decided I didn't want to use their services and they told me that I was locked into a contract that I wasn't even aware I had signed! Then I had to beg this company via email for weeks before they would supply me with a copy of the contract. When I finally recieved my contract and did research on the company I found out that it was actually the company that I had my pervious contract with just under a new name. THIS IS FRAUD!

Have had these clowns chaising me for over a year now for what WAS a $300 balance for a processing maching I sent back.

Now they want over $900 for balance + legal + what ever. Noticed on the internet they seem to be one of the most hated compnaies around. Take my advice; if you need credit processing buy a machine. At the very least stay away from these crooks.

Shortly after I opened my business a pair of women stopped by my shop. The lead was alluring, charming and revealing. I was offered a system that encompassed my credit card processing, an entire customer identification tracking system and a full public relations support system. I would be receiving state of the art terminals for credit and customer "rewards" cards plus a remote credit card processor. All of the above for only $150.00 a month. On the second visit they presented a lease and said it was not really a lease, just a formality and I was put on the phone with a guy who read the terms. Okay, sounds like a lease but the girls said it was for all of the services. They left. I thought about it and called back the next morning and asked about the "lease." I came to find the lease had nothing to do whatsoever with the company. If the girls disappeared I would still owe the lease. " What? That's $8000.00! for $900.00 worth of stuff. I want to cancel." "You can't," he said. IT WASN'T EVEN 24 HOURRS AND I COULD NOT CANCEL THE LEASES. Then the equipment came. Not what was in the pictures. The another girl showed up with my customer cards. "No, you can't have anything on the back. No we don't do e-commerce processing. No, no, no, the sales girls are always new and don't know what they're talking about." Then, they tried to draw extra funds out of my account and I had to have the bank put a stop payment on them. It has been endless and now, some lawyer has the audacity to say they're taking me to court and that I threatened to kill someone. There are no word to describe Lease Finance Group, they're processing company in Orange County, CA, their collection agency or their Customer Card front company. It is unfathonable that a company like that can stay in business, but then there was a Hitler and an Osam Bin Laden so I suppose anything is possible. FRANK SANTA MONICA, California

I started a small business and wanted to offer the opportunity to pay with a credit card to my customers. I received a call with an offer to lease a machine. The lease papers were mailed to me and I signed them. It was a non-cancelable lease. I ran out of money, my business closed, I returned the equipment and thought all was taken care of. Now, after almost a year later, they have sent me a letter telling me I owe them over $3,000! I am a widow receiving Social Security. I don't have $3000 and no way to get it. I live with my daughter in a small room in her home and sleep on a couch. I can't afford to live on my own. Janice Desert Hot Springs, California

In 2003 I received a credit card machine from Lease Financial Group. When my business failed to take off, I tried to return the machine, only to learn Lease did not want the machine back, they wanted money. I told them I had no extra money to pay for a machine I did not use, and could you please show me the contract we have together. They produced nothing, and I heard nothing further from them. Some time later, one year approximately, I began to receive phone calls and messages with an account number that I did not recognize and a demand to call back. I had no idea or way of knowing that the two were connected, all that was on my answering machine was an account number and a name. Tired of the calls two years later (nobody was ever home when they called, we work during the day) on a day off, I answered the phone to see what this was all about. Upon learning of the connection between Lease and MAB, I told them I would be willing to pay the debt if I could use the machine when this was all settled. The agent, Mr. Lance Ferris (not sure on spelling of last name, no paperwork was ever received) informed me he could settle the $2,800 debt for $1,500 (numbers are approx.) and I would be even with Lease and in good standing. I told him I would gladly pay the amount requested, and gave him 3 payments totaling $1,500. I felt the matter closed. About a month later I receive a phone call from a Ms. Lori Redford, who informed me they had not received my payment and were about to report a "refusal to pay" on my credit report. Her voice was raised and aggressive the entire time, even while trying to explain my side of things. She constantly interrupted me, and would not let me finish any statement. When I was able to communicate to her that I believed the debt to be paid (she acknowledged the receipt of the $1,500), she asked me for a payment contract. I stated that we had not received that paperwork from Mr. Ferris yet, and she laughed at me. She told me that no one was authorized to make a settlement offer on the account and that Mr. Ferris did not work in that office or state anymore (he is supposedly in the Las Vegas office now). She told me I had to pay the remaining $1,300 immediately, while still on the phone with her, or she would file the refusal. I desperately tried to buy a little time, as I did not have that money in my bank account at that moment. She told me that she would accept half the balance due and the rest in thirty days. When next we spoke I asked her to send to me a payment contract agreement, so this kind of thing would not happen again and again. She told me that this wasn't Burger King I don't get it my way. She said they don't do that. I said I would not pay until I received a contract from her, notarized, and at that point I would pay. She said she was going to do what they "had to do", but were not sending the contract and were commencing a 10% interest on the account. On looking at this whole scenario I realize it is a very tight scam. They loosely get you to "agree" to lease some equipment by accepting the box, then hook you for all they can. When I showed a willingness to pay, the calls intensified in frequency and aggressiveness of tone. When I mentioned that I believed a lawyer could better handle their kind of calls and customer service, Ms. Redford began a screaming tirade which I did not hear the end of, as I told her I was expecting a contract from her and to have a nice day. The amount they want you to pay is about what you would pay for a lawyer, or less, and they give you no time to consult one, they expect payment immediately. They think it is easier to pay them off than to fight it, and I think that's wrong. I have no reason to trust them or take them at their word, and they will not do the things I am requesting to protect myself. To me that all adds up to a ripoff. As an aside, I was told by my bank that they will help you with this kind of thing if you have a business account. I feel this is the only way to go, with someone you can talk to in a real place. It will also be considerably cheaper and less stressful. Thank you for allowing me this forum to communicate my dilemma. Creditdeprived Longmont, Colorado

Yeah, I guess that I am the latest. Not only have they threatened me with lawyers in my area, but they also harass me after I tell them not to call me at work. My boss even called and told them not to call our work number. I was appraoched by someone representing the bank that we do business with in Tucson. They offered me a great deal, I said I needed new machines and they said no problem. I am not an officer with the company so technically, I should have never been the contact or the signer. After a letter from a local lawyer in the Company's defense, I got stuck with the unknowing personal guarantee that I signed. As a company rule, we do not lease equipment, EVER!, not even pitney bowes postage machines. I am the office manager and nothing more, however, after 2 months we saw extra charges and another credit card machine salesman showed me the fraudulance. Tucson has many companies with same fate. They dropped the harassment on the company for which I work, but still to this day, 2 years later, harass me every week. I am done! Not only do I not pay them what they ask but they have just messed with the wrong person. I am a fourth generation Arizonan and have connections all the way to the governor. I am willing to go to court, to the Senators of our state (John McCain) and to the governor (Janet Napolitano), not only this but the Unitted States Attorney General needs to know that this is happening all over the Country. When do we stand up as comsumers and fight for our rights? My credit is ruined a year after I bought a house with good credit. I will not, as an upstanding citizen of the United States allow some fraudulent company to bully me into submission. No, they are going to find out that this sort of business is NOT ACCEPTABLE to the US population and everyone involved should be held accountable. I am not a bad person, naive maybe, but that does not constitute a battle with experian or anyone else to have power over my life. Take me to court and I will make a federal case, son't take me to court and I will make a federal case. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Susanne Tucson, Arizona

I signed up with this company in 2013 for a credit card machine...I never used it..had it two days & was done. I called the Leasing finance Group and he informed me that I had a lifetime contract and they didn't want the machine back..They now have gone into my bank acct. and taken almost $5000 today...I have got a Consumer Lawyer on the case...This company

has ripped so many people off and numerous lawsuits against them and it seems that they still operate like usual. I don't owe them a penny and yet they have harrassed me in the past and I believe this is nothing but a front...I know it is a scam and why that the Attorney General or someone can't do something about this company...They have cheated people out of millions of dollars......Andrea

In the fall of 2015 we were struggling with the credit card terminal from Payment Systems who is in cooperation with this company. It constantly double billed our clients. First the machine wouldn't print out the receipt forcing us to run the card again. We told our clients to let us know if they were charged twice, so we could refund them. The CC company Payment Systems told us it wouldn't charge them twice, but when it did we had a double charge back from an angry customer. Which they refused to fix. So I had had it, but our option was to either pay $900 or some amount per a month for the rest of the contract whichever was greater. They suggested us put in a request for a new terminal and had us fill out two requests for a new machine. I specifically asked if the new machine would start our contract over, and they said No. They told us once we finished with this contract the machine would be month to month, cancel at any time.

We even recieved a letter stating if by such and such date if we continued to use the machine then it would be considered continuing service with them. So we left it unplugged. We then received a bill with a $99 charge for inactivity and $150 charge for annual compliance. I called to cancel and they sent me to Lease Finance Group who said in order to cancel we have to pay of the 48 month contract or transfer this to someone else. The buy out would be over $4000. And in October when we had agree to accept the machine we accepted the contract of 48 months.

When they sent me the copy, it was a contract I had never seen before. With a typed dated rather than a written date. The signature looked as if it was copy and pasted. Clearly it is a falsified document. Had we seen this document we would have never signed. The documents sent to us initially were computer based not sent through mail or on paper. This leads me to believe this company is a full scam. And now the anguish of having criminals who can access our bank account at will is emotionally draining. If no one stops them they will rape small business dry with access to your money to take out any amount they please. Fees taken were not agreed upon when we initially signed up for payment systems many years ago.

I believe there are many illegal acts happening here, the contract tactics they pull are illegal. And I simply hope for justice and fairness to be served.
