Le Tablier Bleu Reviews
I wanted some specific French gourmet food products and I came across the website of an online company "Le Tablier Bleu". It is a very well produced website, projecting quite convincingly the image of a gourmet food store with a variety of French products -- sauces, spices, cookies and so on. The prices look attractive (but not unrealistic), there is search functionality and so on.
Based on the website's ease-of-use, presentation and the store's supposed inventory, I went ahead and placed an order for a few items, along with my credit card details. I immediately got a well-formated "order confirmation" email, showing the order number, listing products I had ordered, as well as the amount charged including shipping costs. It informed me that I will get another email once my order ships. So far it all looked legit.
But it took less than a week to figure out that all this was a facade and this business has no more credibility than Theranos or Madoff. After 4-5 days, I had not received any further notification that my order had shipped. So I sent them a polite email to inquire at their supposed customer service address [email protected] and no reply at all. They have a phone number listed on their website: 212-401-4878 but this basically seems to be a non-operational number. They have a physical address listed on their website: 128 East Broadway, Suite 507, NY NY 10002. On Google it becomes clear that this is a fictitious address: It is a big post office building, not a commercial or residential establishment.
So, at this point I am out the amount they billed me (less than $100, thankfully but more than that in time, annoyance and searching for an alternative product). They are also in possession of my credit card details and CVV code -- I have now called my credit card company and had the card cancelled so taht they can't misuse it further. At some level one has to admire the slickness and production values of their website, but of course at the core they seem to be scammers out to con customers like me out of money and perhaps additionally to harvest credit card numbers for further monetization on dark sites online.
Avoid them at all costs!
I ordered several items, and paid for priority mail: delivery was promised
within a few days. One month later, the goods hadn't arrived despite
assurances the goods had been shipped.
I called and email several times, always asking in genial tones what had
becomeof my order. No answers came. I requested a refund. Nothing
happened. I finally asked my credit card issuer to cancel the purchase.
Six weeks later, I'm still waiting for the transaction. to be reversed.
