I am a small mom and pop shop. I personally make only about $400.00 to $600.00 per deal. I do about 6 to 7 deals a year. This was my first experience with Stripe and will be my last. The monies I make in this business is only a small supplemental income for me.
I submitted a charge to a customer on 10-20-15 in two separate transactions in the amount of $4,000.00 and $600.00. These charges where cleared for use on the 10-27-15. On 11-4-15 these charges became a dispute. I immediately refunded to the client (J. D.) all other charges that where outstanding to me. I also immediately (even though some monies where used for materials) refunded my fee back to Stripe in the amount of $615.00($15.00 dispute costs). As for the $4,000.00 I do not have that money anymore, it was sent off to a Logistic Agent (a third party to arrange transport to America for this event) on 10-28-15 to Bank of America:
Name on account: A. S.
Bank of America account #: xxxxxxxxxx34
I am not familiar on how all this works. I want to know why it took so long for this fraudulent charges to be recognized. If your methods are so advanced and secure why did this transaction take two weeks before it was disputed? How come you did not recognized some red flags sooner and let me know? Isn’t there securities in place to prevent this? What are Stripe’s security safety procedures like, what reference on a card does Stripe verify before a business owner get verification to use the card like person’s name, card number, zip code, three digit number on the back of card? I know what you are saying but I need to talk to someone. You must have phones to communicate with your employees, electric company, etc. everyone these days have cell phones. This is a very serious problem and I need to talk with a live person.
