- The incumbent will collaborate with multiple-functional managers to plan and execute the development of a distribution center operational process to enable seamless transfers.
- The incumbent will also manage and monitor vendor's qualification and performance to ensure they meet the company's requirements.
- Manages supervise staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
Sounds good, right? But it's also the first Red Flag. My wife has no logistics experience and therefore never applied for this job. I do however, and encouraged her to proceed. With my help, she could do this job. We looked at the website, and it looked good, very professional. We searched for negitive reviews, comments, scams, fraud, etc and found nothing.
The next set of Red Flags was the phone interview. There was no discussion about her resume or previous employment experience (Red Flag). Just standard canned job interview questions. The woman conducting the interview was (most likely an alies) "Molly Lyons" spoke with a thick Russian accent (Red Flag) and hired her on the spot as a trainee (Red Flag).
The so-called "training" started the next day with Training Manager (assumed alies) "Raymond Burns", who sent a series of PDF's that seemed like more interview questions. Nothing was being taught (Red Flag). She read the documents, answered the questions and received another over the course of 3-weeks. Afterwhich, he stated she would now become a full-time W2 employee.
She was then contacted by Manager (assumed alies) "Harold Daniel Mason" with her first task assignment: Purchacing Equipment. He stated that she would receive a Corporate Debit Card in two-weeks, but to get started he would provide teh Corporate Bank Account information to use to apply Payments to her "Credit Card" for the purcheses (Red Flag). It had to be a "Credit Card" and she was instructed to "pay the entire balance" using the Corporate Bank Account before making any purcheses, then use it again to pay off the Credit Card after each purchace (Red Flag). We were very suspisious at this point, but, they did pay the entire Credit Card ballance to $0, so it was like being paid in advance (Red Flag). I instructed her to proceed, but never spend more than the origional ballance that was paid-off.
The first equipment Purchace Order was received requesting that she purchace TWO MacBook Pro's and TWO iPhone XS's from the Apple Store or BestBuy for a total of about $7500 (Red Flag). They stressed that the purchaces must be made "in-store" and NOT online (Red Flag). My wife proceeded to the Apple Store and showed the salesmen the PO. He quickly called over a manager, whom had a lot of questions such as: Is this for a job? Have you ever met these people? Have you ever received a "pay check"? etc. Being an good ethical person, he "refused the sale" and told her this is a very popular scam right now.
This caused me to dig deeper. Starting with the Domain Name (whois):
As you can see, the name was only regestered 1-week before the offer was received. You can also see that it's a private registration that is hosted in Russia.
The website says have offices all over, from Germany to New York (NY). A quick search of the addresses revieled that they are Regus Virtual Offices, a comapny they leases office addresses and office/meeting space by the hour.
The only other relevant Google search results was an incomplete profile on uShip.com featuring a profile picture of a drunk Russian guy: https://www.uship.com/service-provider/730120246-ldb-logistics
While searching some more about Employment Scams, I cam accross this article "Cleveland man left with $47K in credit card charges after he was targeted by home employment scam": https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/ne-ohio-home-employment-scams-hitting-job-seekers-for-thousands describing this type of fraud.
My wife has now stopped all communication and we are filing a report with the FBI Cyber Crimes task force. I am posting this here to warn others, because LDB Logistics is too new, so there are no negitive search results about it (yet).
