Lazydays Reviews

  • Oct 6, 2017

In December 2014 i purchased a 2005 monaco diplomat from Lazydays Rv in Seffner fl. When looking it over i noticed the sides were loose, i asked the sales person Jeff Rutherford what the problem was and was told that was normal on this motorhome. I was told it had a new roof and floor,i was told the other owner had a family member do it.

After three years we have had no major problems, untill we took it to another dealer to sell it, we were told it had serious water damage, before we purchased it,and could not be repaired because of the cost. On 10-2 17 i called Jeff Ruthford at Lazydays and told him the problem, about water damage he said the floor was changer because of water and the sides were nornal for that coach, and the new roof was becaust of leaks. We were told nothing about water problems when we made the purchase. All we want is Lazydays is to take responcability for selling this motor home with out telling us. we asked them to fix it or buy us out of it. They said it could not be fixed and would not buy it back. Maybe i need a lawyer.

What an absolutely terrible experience!! Not only did I buy a coach with major undisclosed structural damage, the warranty i bought won't cover the repairs because they say it was pre-existing damage. I do not recommend Lazydays in any manner.

They claim when you buy a crown club pre-owned unit that they will inspect it and will fix any major issues that it would have prior to you leaving in the coach.

Not only did they NOT do that, they let me leave with items that they supposedly fixed that were not fixed properly causing more issues with the coach.

The coach pulled terribly to the right when I first test drove it and they had put new tires on it.. I clearly told them that the coach needed an alignment as part of my punch list which they agreed to do.. Problem was.. they did not do it right.. less than 5K miles on the new tires and it already has ruined the front tire.. After taking it back to them were it spent nearly 4 weeks in their shop.. they said it was good to go but would not replace the front tire.

The coach also had a major air leak that should have been fixed as it will cause the brake system to malfunction... They said they fixed that but they didn't.. coach still leaks air like crazy and is actually too dangerous to drive.

I was also shocked when after contacting them they said they are not responsible for anything sales people, management or service people say.. The head of their customer service told me that they have 180 plus employees and cant control what they say.. Somehow that is my problem..

This company has all the appearances of a top not company but can only speak from my experience and tell that when it came time to take responsibility for the coach they sold me with so many issues... they ran away faster than I could have imagined..

For the record..

1. When they say they will do a preventive maintenance on a pre-owned coach.. that means they will change the oil... they will not replace any filters... which is just silly!!

2. If the frame on your radiator is crushed from previous damage and the frame around it is totally damaged.. they knowingly will sell the coach without fixing the radiator.. this equaled a $4,000 repair that they will not cover..

3. Finally.. You better get any promise or statement in writing from them in regards to what they are going to fix or not fix on the coach.. you also better get in writing the items they say they will inspect..

In closing.. I have had the following items already replaced on a coach with only 28K miles that I have only owned for 4 months. Also, out of the 4 months.. the coach has sat in the shop for more than 2 of those months..

Radiator... $4k

Coach Dash A/C System $3K

Roof Top Air Conditioner.. $2K

Multiple air leaks.. $1K

A complete Oil Lube and filter service done properly.. $800

Things I still need to fix..

Front Tire needs to be replaced.. $800

Coach still pulls to the right.. $300

Front Windshield has huge wind noise and will need to be replaced $3K

many more other things that I still don't have right but I think you get the picture..

I would never under any circumstances purchase another coach from Lazydays in Tampa or any other lazydays dealership.

Next step for me is.. Filing complaints with the BBB, Florida Attorney Generals office, Florida New Dealers Association, Entegra Coach, US Bank, AGW Warranty, Florida Department of Transportation among others.

We took our camper in last July after the pipes all leaked. After paying extra for service contract, it has taken 4 months to get repairs done. They initially said 2 months for counter top to arrive then another 2 months to do it again because they ordered the wrong size. We have had to cancel 2 trips so far and a third next week. We continue to have to pay for a product we don't have. When we call. We get lame answers. This time they gave us a phone number for the manufacturer.

On May 28th 2016 I purchased a RV. Terrible situation!

I had not actually test driven the vehicle two weeks prior as they could not find the key but a similar unit. So we were allowed to stay in the vehicle and then test drive with the verbal stipulation that the loan would not be processed if we were not happy and not taking delivery of the vehicle. At the end of our stay we found issues that needed to be corrected and said do not process the loan until the items are corrected. The loan was processed anyway. We were promised that the RV would be ready for pick up on the next Saturday and not to worry about the loan already being processed. I called on the Thursday before we were promised delivery and was directed to voice mail and through many calls and left messages was finally told the RV would not be ready. The entire next week same thing I called everyday 4 to 5 time per day with no one calling back, finally they answered on the next Saturday at 5:30pm after closing that the RV had taken on water and they were repairing it and drying it out. Of course at this point already upset with the lack of information and missed promises of ready dates I was concerned that this vehicle is no longer new and of the same value drove to Tampa Sunday in hopes of getting some answers.

At Lazydays I spoke to Gene Taylor who was the Sales Manager on duty at the time. We were taken by our Salesperson Ralph Proemm to the vehicle and could not actually see where the water had come in and were told that they would have to deal with it on Monday because they couldn’t tell if at this point Pat Singleton the person who told me about the leak must have been mistaken that it had to be another vehicle she confused us with. Upon inspection we found things that were promised to be fixed were not and more issues.

At this point they were encouraging us to take the RV and then bring it back for service as we complained that they processed the loan and our payment would be due in a few days and we hadn’t even taken delivery. I am sure I probably made a mistake but sign new paper work to extend the date of the first payment. After this we went back to the RV to pick up items we left inside and found water on the counter next to the stove area. We got the salesman back out to the unit to see the water. He asked if we were sure we hadn’t had a bottle of water or something there. I told him we are sure and if he recalled that my purse and paper work were there and showed him these items were not wet.

Again back to the sales manager to tell them about more issues and he promised that someone would call us on Monday. At this point again we mentioned this vehicle has too many problems and we will not be taking delivery like this.

On Monday still did not receive the morning phone call as promised I called two times and finally escalated it up to another manager Glen Soper and told him that at this point I do not want this vehicle. He asked me to let him get to the bottom for what was happening or not happening. The service people told me that they had addressed or will address everything and have it ready for me to pick up the next day. I asked if they were aware of the new issues and they say no they had no idea. I lost my temper a bit and said that is because no one bothered to call me back as promised. I told them again how this is no longer a new vehicle in my mind and not worth the money expected from me, and I want to cancel the order. I was told that I was wrong and this happens all the time they will make it ready for me. I told them it didn't matter as I have lost all confidence in Lazydays and in the product and want my money back.

I retained a lawyer and we tried to get my money back Lazydays position is they will let me out of the deal but keep of $15,000.00 of my money because I devalued the unit by staying in it which they told me I should do. They never mentioned anything bout how they would keep my money. Funny how they feel I devalued the unit but it taking on water in more than one area didn't affect a thing!

I just want my money back!
