When we moved to the somerset apartments, AMC owned the complex. We got a little behind in rent but made a payment plan. Then they got sold to greystar rentals somehow they "lost" our housing papers and were charging us full rent, which we pay half and housing pays half. So we continued our payment plan but they started sending 3 day notices. Then we got served papers from kirk cullimores office, so I called and set up a payment plan with them. They wanted $573.00 a week till end of January. Debbie from that office told me to call her on Monday DEC 28th,which she never answered or returned my calls for 2 days after.
Plus the amount was like $1000 more than what we owed. We have been getting harassed by the apartment workers, so when I called to "talk" to them, which I also mentioned that we had an open bankruptcy they told me that they don't rent to anyone with bankruptcies. She told me she would call back. Never did. All of a sudden new years eve we got a constable from cullimores office giving us till tonight 1/3/2016 to be out. I had called our lawyer whom said they can't lock us out due to having an "automatic stay" and if they did get us out they would be in trouble with a federal judge on a "willful violation".
Our lawyer called the constable twice and emailed, and called cullimores office. So in the mean time we are sitting ducks being afraid. They really are rushing this (less than 2 weeks) just because I mentioned bankruptcy. They push, discriminate, don't return calls all they care is to put people out legal or not. Comes down to $$$. Also in the time being all the maintenance reports we called in since we moved in have never been done. Found out that its not just us on housing that they are harassing. So if anyone tries to work with cullimores office I suggest write "everything" down, record everything, pictures, phone calls ect...!! Take it to court and tell it all to the judge.
Scam. They use illegal and unethical ways to collect thier "amount owed" which fluctuates depending on the day you call and who you talk to. It's pretty easy to make money when you call yourself a lawyer, put on a suit, and lie cheat and steal from innocent people who just want to pay their dues and get on with their life.
They offered me a one time lump sum of my debt. Problem is their offer had a different name on it then mine. So basically they tried to get me to send them the one lump sum and still have me resposible for the rest of the interest they were supposedly cutting for me. They are really crooks and snakes in the grass.
They took me to court on disability even though I had paid more than my share with proof. I called their offices and they would not return my phone calls. Entered in a judgement of twick as much as I supposedly owed. I had proof of overpayment and it didn't matter. They made me pay them or I could not rent again anywhere else. Heartless!
