Started a tattoo removal treatment at LaserAway a few weeks ago. I showed them images of the tattoo I wanted removed during my consultation, and they quoted me about $3000 for 10 sessions. This price was agreed to at my first session and I began payments. At the first session, they told me that the tattoo was bigger than they’d expected (despite the photographs I provided), and they’d have to split it into 2 sessions. At the second session, they mentioned they’d have to adjust the price, and that the front desk would tell me the price increase after the session. The price increased to about $5000, far above what I was willing to pay for the service. My view of the quality of their service was soured by the inconsistent messaging I’ve received since starting these sessions regarding the likelihood of the blue ink in my tattoo coming out, which I stated several times was what I wanted removed the most. Further they never discussed the price of individual sessions with me or the price for not completing the 10 session plan.
Since I’m no longer wanting to complete my 10 sessions, they want to charge me $3000 for the individual sessions. This is far too high of a price considering all the changes they’ve made in price since starting these procedures, the new information on how unlikely it is they’ll be able to even lessen the main part of the tattoo I want removed, and how much higher a single session is than other tattoo removal services I’ve encountered in Kansas City (specifically Removery, which charges about $500). The impacted skin is also healing pretty poorly, despite me following the post-treatment care plan.
Further, the company just seems like a bit of a mess. No one can give me a direct answer on the likelihood of the blue ink coming out. The main nurse for this area, who should be the most knowledgeable about tattoo removal, told me with confidence when we were discussing me ending my sessions that no lasers exist that can remove blue ink (this is not true, based on my research). They always seem to talk in ways that lower the price, so instead of speaking cumulatively (the total that the consumer would be concerned about), they discuss how much parts of the procedure will be. Overall this place just seems sloppy, and that might be intentional so they have room to jack up the price when expectations change, while giving you little room to get out of it.
On May 13, 2016, I had a thermage treatment done. When you get thermage they first take your before picture and when settled in the room the tech/nurse first applied a tatoo grid on your face but did not do so on my neck. I had made the appointment in person and ask for all my face and neck done. The gal appeared to get frazzeled and kept looking at her watch. I had a feeling I was making her late for something. She said she said she would use some of my eye time on my neck. What!! I was coated with A LOT of whatever gel product (like used with ultra sounds) she was using, it was running into my ears, eyes, and mouth. It felt rushed and that she may have not done this, or not many. It was way to much product I felt to be able to have the electodes contact my skin. At the end of the service I HAD to ask for a towel or something to wipe the stuff off my face before she jetted out.
I waited the appropriate amount of time of 6 months to see some improvement. I too had taken my before and after pictures and they were pretty much the same. I logged a complaint via email with the help of their receptionist who helped tremediouly throughout this ordeal, on 9/20/16 and sent same email to Barbara in the corporation on 1/13/17 whom gave me a second procedure at no charge on June 9,2017. Expecting I was getting a re-do to me meant all that I paid for would be redone, well that did not happen they only did my forhead, outer check area, the areas that needed help were my mouth and eyes, ot the cheeks and forhead! I was Furious then on July 25, 2017 sent and email to Ruze customer service to follow up on my concerns. I was told to wait the 6 months for results, it was NOT the result it was the incomplete service for $3000 that I was upset about. With the back and forth for months, Barbara in Corp said I could have my eye area completed but not the mouth area. I did not do the service because I am owed the full service I purchased done correctly. I did try 7-On your Side, they do not deal with medical and I tried our assemblyman and they said they could not help. I have been trying to fiqure this out it has been years and I happen to come across this web page. I do not know if there is s statue of limitations on any of this. I have emails of them stating they are in the wrong but not doing what is right.
This is my story, maybe this will help someone else. Big corprate businesses should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people.
Agreed upon charges were not submitted to the lender. The charges sent to the lender were much higher than agreed upon.
No contract or invoices were sent until 9 months later causing difficulty for me when explaining the discrepancies. None of the regional directions will respond to my phone calls or emails.
Ok, so, this is my first time here. Having good and bad things happen is normal so I never thought to tell the internet, till now. A little background first, I have a tattoo on my left ring finger of a 7 letter name that has been there for around 10 years or so, never been re done, re outlined, nothing like that. So, removal time came almost 2 years ago so I go to laseraway as I had heard they could handle this type of thing. Pay over 300 bucks for a tattoo on a finger to be removed, in 10 sessions 2 months apart. Im like geeze thats along time but I want it GONE so im like lets to it. The first removal you could definitely feel the thing working see burns on the skin so im like ok were off. Yay! By like the 5th time (machine changes) I ask why nothing is really happening and they are like it takes time to get rolling, it blasts the ink outa the skin blah blah so im like ok. The 7th and 8th time (ashley, ur rad, only real results i saw) I notice its noticeably more sore, blistered and in a few weeks time was changing.
I was stoked. Then i go back for 9th and 10th time and its a different person, not sore, not red, heck didnt even hurt and im like soo thats odd why is that happening to which the new girl says oh just wait 3 months and come back then the front office tries to sell me more treatments. Haha. The tattoo is clearly still there, maybe half removed over 10 treatments and 2 years?!??! FAIL!!! Seriously? Hahaha, BEWARE OF LASERAWAY PEOPLE, THIS IS COMPLETE BS. Now I have a half removed blob on ink on my finger that will need 10 more treatments at this rate and who knows how much more cash. Do some research people. This place is a rip off!! Im trying to add a photograph so u guys can all see this rip offs handy work.
