Called in response to a used 2016 Subaru Outback 3.6r AWD Limited on the internet (lhm.auto).
Spoke to a sales representative that could not tell me if it was sold?
I called several times over a (3) day period and was told that it had not been sold but was still listed on the internet.
I spoke to Gary Arnold, sales rep who explained finally that the car was sold. He said that they had another Subaru the same carbut was a 2014 identical model as the 2016 and that it was just like ( "new" very clean), so I made arrangements with Mr. Arnold for a test drive the car on 3/11/16. I agreed on a negotiated price over the phone with the internet mananger "TC" and filed a credit application that was approved. Based on photographs of the car on the internet (found out later they used the 2016 photo of this Subaru to also represent the 2014 that was available).
After I test drove I stopped and looked at the condition of the car and noticed many dings and scratches.
I drove 64 miles to get their for a total trip on 128 miles and if I would have known that this car was in the condition I wouldn't have driven (2) hours total and wasted (5) hours in the dealership waiting to speak to the finance man. I have an 820 credit score and they were trying to give me a higher percentage rate!!
I spoke with Mr. Wattes the used car manager and said that they would not fix the car and that they would take it to the auction (not very customer friendly and did not want offer any solutions) very poor. I explained if they would fix these problems I would still take the car. He said if I didn't like it you could walk away!
Disturbed by his attitude I contacted the general manager Bill Stahelin about the poor customer service, the mis-representation of this vechilce on the phone and by internet and he said he would speak to Mr. Arnold my original sales repsentative. Mr. Arnold took the blame and the car was not longer available to me and they were not going to fix it . . . I left messages for Mr. Stahelin to call me but he never returned my call . . .
Perfect examble of BAIT and SWITCH! / MIS-REPRESENTATION OF THE CONDITION OF THE AUTOMBILE! BEWARE Not to do business with these people. A RIPOFF!
