I am from the same hometown and have known Ryan for years. I even pulled his boat from the shop to his home the day of my initial meeting with him to discuss my family court child custody dispute. He waited so late (months) to petition the court for the appointment of a forensic evaluator to conduct an evaluation that one could not be done. I paid him $5000 the day of our initial meeting. Over the curse of the next several months I asked him several times in person and by email to send me his current bill, he never did. The night BEFORE our trial was to begin he sends me a PDF that contained his "updated” bill.
He wanted $4000 before the trial was to start the next morning AND a postdated check for another $4000. Due to his failure to timely petition the court for a forensic expert I had to settle with my ex-wife instead of going to trial. After we settled Ryan informed me that "the judge may hit you with some attorney’s fees”. The judge hit me alright, with over $20,000 in fees for the opposing attorney and GAL. You would think an attorney would have discussed the possibility of his client being forced to pay fees BEFORE he settles. Run from this incompetent, abject failure.
