LAN WAN Professional Reviews
It all started in March of 2015 when I had been through a few Job interviews as a new CCNA aspiring Network Engineer. I had no real networking experience other that LABs; just like any other new Network Engineer. I had degrees in computer science, one associate of Arts in computer networking and a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security. I was desperate to get into the Cisco networking industry, something I love with every bit of me.
After being depressed by the unsuccessful job interviews, I went online search searching for more jobs because I was determine to get a job. So, I came across LAN WAN Professional on job recruiter website (can’t remember). Their memo sounded so convincing. It stated that they will interview me and when approved they will invite me to their boot camp in Irvine, California and then after the camp, they will guarantee me a job with their numerous partners (employers) in the LAN WAN industry. They also stated that I will acquire 7 years of Cisco Network Engineering experience after the boot camp/workshop. Now, I hope you are following because it gets more interesting.
When I gave them a call I had a bad credit, no doubt I was a struggling graduate who had been a full-time student for some time. So, they started mentioning things that were not in their memo posted on the recruiter job site. First of all when they interview me they will played with my psychology to make me feel like am smart but i need their help to get to where I want to be. But that I needed to sacrifice just a little to pay for their little fee for the location where the host the boot camp in the city of Irvin, California. First they approved me for a preliminary 3 day workshop at the same site, just so I could get a little feel of what I might acquire. But then they told me after the 3 days if I perform well in their final exams, they will make a decision for me come back and get the full dose of 7 years of LAN WAN experience in just 10 days or no 13 days right!. See, why I asked earlier if you guys are paying attention because that was how they got me before I knew it, I was in deep dept. Anyway the story continues…
I did extremely well, in fact I finished first in the exam and their rules are the first to finish is the best. But they told me the problem I had was my bad credit. So, they said I will give them $2500 as payment to come back for the 10 day workshop. Remember it was March, tax season so off course I had $2500 to give and obtain 7 years of Cisco professional experience in just days and job guaranteed, no one can beat that offer, right!.
So, I came back in 10 days and because of Los Angeles traffic I came about 30 minutes late. Something happened which I wish it didn't happened because I would have walked away and never would have been in this situation. I was asked to hurry up into the classroom which had already started, so I had to rush and sign their agreement form at the door. You know those exemption clauses that no one ever reads, yeah, that was how they got me. I read it just like everyone else besides I was excited and they asked me to sign quickly so I wouldn’t miss class. Can you guess what was in those little writings?
A $47000 total amount to pay if I completed the program. When I say the program, it was not the 10 day workshop anymore, it was a program which stated that when I get a job 2 months after the 10 day workshop, it will be my responsibility to inform them that I have a job and then I will have to come back for another 21 day workshop which was when I had to obtain my CCNP certificate. Also that would start making payments of at least $1000 per month until completion because I got a job. You see what I meant by why you should always read those little writings at the bottom of everything you put you legal signature on?
So, right around the 3rd to the 4th day into the workshop that was when reality check started flowing into your brains. We were about 13 of us; 12 men, 1 lady. They started mentioning things such as "when you go out for interviews and hopefully get a job", " which most of their victims usually do around 2 weeks after the 10 day workshop (lies)".During breaks we started fidgeting amongst each other, “oh, I also thought they said they will refer us to their employers partners so we employed easily?”.
But no one could mention anything because we just wanted to see how it ends. Remember the form we signed earlier, they never brought it up anytime during the workshop. So, at the end of day 9 and 10, they gave us techniques to trick recruiters and employers so that the interview will come to an end without us answering any real questions because obviously we didn’t know anything,...but was how they said it would be possible to get that 120k - 150k with major companies.
We all know everyone gets through with recruiter interviews and most of the time phone interviews from the employer. It gets real when you have to meet the employer face to face and answer questions about a job you know nothing about and have no experience on. In fact most of the jobs they made us interviewed for had titles such as Senior Network engineer or senior Network Administrator.
So, after 2 months of going through at least several interviews stupefying myself, that was when I realized I just got dealt with, as I had just spent March right into May wasting my time. When I told them i was disappointed at them because I wasn't getting the job they claimed was a guarantee in the first place,; the CEO, Eric Choi, an American Asian dude, told me on the phone that I was owing LAN WAN $27470. He actually said that it was a discounted balance from the $47000(if I had continued the program). But he noticed I was very angry and when i told them I don’t owe LAN WAN a dime because I had my CCNA before I came in, never learned anything new, never got the job like I believed I would , and now am owing $27470, he then he brought it down to $14000. I told him I will not pay a dime because I have been scammed. I have our conversation recorded because I am so ready to deal with them in court. The balance never showed up on my credit report for all these years because I had sent them an email that if I see any negative report from LAN WAN I will sue them. Well, I just saw that negative report earlier around June this year. And when I emailed them, they say it will go to collections if I don’t pay my balance in full. Ones again they offered to work with me to get some kind of money from me for a discounted price. Well, again I said no. I will not pay for zero services rendered. I just want to say that I had to go back and started studying with a CCEI friend who helped me pass all 3 exams of my CCNP certificate (for zero dollars) and now I have 120k job I thought I would have in corporate America working as a Network Administrator for the US army because I took the correct route.
To everyone who took the time to read through my complaint, LAN WAN PROFESSIONAL aka Global Networks Enterprises & Technologies, is a NO GO area. You will regret your life for signing that agreement form with them. Please tell the whole world about this fraudulent company so they could be shut down for good. Oh did I tell you they made us testify on camera at the end of the 10 day workshop, how LAN WAN is the best thing that happened to us, so they could use it in court as evidence that we were satisfied with the program? Yeah, but even with that, they will never win in court for making people’s life more miserable than it was.
I took my time to write this report because if this is what I can do to save the next LAN WAN Professional's victim from getting into more debt, then I am happy I did if this make a difference.
Official LAN/WAN Professional Response
This is Patrick Pule, Director of Member Services. Please note that LAN/WAN Professional respects the privacy of its members, even when those members do not follow through on their obligations to us.
With that stated, when that member chooses to post misleading and false statements about our organization, it is my responsibility to provide an accurate and factual response to the matter.
Let me first start by congratulating this individual on the success of his LAN/WAN career this past 2 years. Based on the blog post above, he is currently working in LAN/WAN earning $120,000 per year with less than 2 years of actual LAN/WAN work experience.
Based on the fact that prior to coming to LAN/WAN he stated that he had a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, along with associates degrees in computer science and no real work experience other than labs (As stated on his blog post), landing a job earning $120,000 per year, that normally requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven LAN/WAN work experience, is very impressive and would be considered a success story to anyone reading this blog. In fact, most experienced IT professionals would consider that TOO GOOD to be true.
For this reason, it is surprising that this individual is complaining about what he received, especially when we have signed documents and testimonials from him stating otherwise. We understand that this individual states that he did not receive any benefits from us, but that his success was solely self-driven along with the help of a CCIE friend. This statement is very suspicious because no matter how much help you get from a friend, they cannot do your interview or the job for you to earn $120,000 per year.
A person must somehow acquire real world LAN/WAN technical and placement insight to get these positions. Without going into details, this individual went through a moderate vetting process before he was approved as a member. During this process he had the opportunity to personally experience us prior to making any commitments and we had the opportunity to validate his background and abilities. During this process, we felt convinced and still feel convinced that this individual possessed the education and abilities to be successful.
With that stated, this individual had bad credit due to a history of not paying for services that he received. This is something he specifically mentioned in his blog post above. Based on this, one of our main concern was mainly related to whether he would pay for his obligations once he did attain employment and also whether he would put in the necessary effort, including following our process and methodology.
In spite of this we still took a chance on him and this individual not only chooses not to pay for the services he received, but also decides to post misleading and false statements about us. For this reason, we will take the full legal measure to handle both the obligations and this individuals false statements.
For all IT professionals interested in our membership, please note that we completely understand that the success statistics stated on our website may sound too good to be true. Especially in light of the fact that enterprise LAN/WAN is a very important, high impact and mission critical technical role in any organization.
In fact, this is a job that most professionals ARE NOT QUALIFIED for EVEN with our help. You need to possess a specific combination of background and/or education and LAN/WAN technical talent and also possess a high motivation and work ethic to be successful. Especially through our organization.
For this reason, we require all applicants go through one of the most extensive vetting process in the form of a comprehensive 2 step qualification/test drive process BEFORE we approve those applicants as members and make our investment.
The 2 step process also allows qualified candidates who are curious about our services to personally “Test Drive” and fully experience our service BEFORE you make any commitments or signing any contracts.
This is very important to us because we consider a membership relationship to be similar to getting married. To have a positive and long term relationship, both parties should be fully aware of not only the benefits, but also sacrifices that needs to be made to be successful.
Since 2015 when this individual applied to us, we have significantly improved our process to further ensure that all applicants are fully vetted and you, the candidate, are fully aware of not only the benefits, but also the sacrifices necessary to be successful.
Please note that vast majority of our members are successful and working LAN/WAN professionals holding positions ranging from Network Tech/Analyst, Network Engineer, Senior Network Engineer, Project Manager, Network Architect and even Directors/CTO. In fact, new members seeking employment represent less than 3% of our membership base.
Just as important, our members regularly update us on changes in both the technologies used on their network along with responsibilities associated with a particular job. For this reason, we know exactly what the job requirements are. The result is that we are able to help our new members acquire real world hands-on skills that companies actually need, versus unnecessary concepts and theories.
If you are a qualified professional who pass the transferable background/education and LAN/WAN technical talent and also possess strong motivation and work ethic to be successful, but are concerned about how real we are, feel free to apply to us and personally “Test Drive” our service remotely without any obligations and confirm for yourself if what the blog stated above is true OR what we state is correct.
You can also contact me directly at [email protected] OR call me direct at 949-544-1368. Let me finish this email by stating that if you are serious about advancing in your IT career, we wish you the best no matter how you achieve it.
Keep your distance and keep your money
Unfortunately, I had a similar experience. The key points to think about when reviewing their offering is that they regularly coach in deception. Here is what I mean.
Training is done out of a house. This is a zoning violation which I verified with the City.
They download and provide Cisco Exam Dumps and require you to use them for test prep. This is a violation of Cisco's trademark.
They tell you to say you worked for them when doing interviews. You will not work for them. You will be asked to do video interviews and they say that is work.
If you don't follow everything they ask you to do they will charge you extra, shame for not following their rules and make life uncomfortable.
Their training equipment is not current and after you go through their labs they will have you fill your resume with all of the tech that you were exposed to. During an interview they will have you record everything and have your lab books open so you can answer questions.
So if you get into their bed be aware that you will not have a comfortable ride.
