STAY AWAY from this company. It is ran by a person out of New York by the name of Carlos Figueroa. He is, for lack of better terms, the worst person you can have running a moving company. He is a liar, a con, a thief and definitely hides behind the phone so that he doesn't have to deal with problems. My wife and I called La Rosa del Monte 4834 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 (773) 745-1331 out to make a move from Chicago to Orlando. Initially, we didn't hire their services because they said it was going to take 10 weeks to get our items to Orlando. We decided to rent a haul and make the move ourselves; we figured: “at least we would be in control of our things.” Good thing we did, however, we were unable to get a big enough truck and had to leave some items behind. We called La Rosa del Monte to pick up the remanding items. We made it to Orlando before they were able to pick up our things from Chicago.

The day after they picked up our items, our situation changed and although we just made the move to Orlando, we had to head back to Chicago. We called Javier, our La Rosa Del Monte rep and explained to him that we needed the items held and that we would provide them an address in Chicago once we returned, but that we did NOT NEED our items sent to Orlando. He said that he was out of the office and that he would take care of it once we got it. A month went by, and we were finally settled in our new home in the Chicagoland area. So, we called La Rosa del Monte to get our things back. HERE IS WHERE THE STORY GETS GOOD.

Apparently, Javier gets amnesia and does not recall anything and was going to check to see where our items were. After waiting, calling, and waiting, and calling; we found out that our things were supposedly in La Rosa del Monte at 10208 General Dr, Orlando, FL 32824 (407) 859-6262 and that Javier never stopped the move. We were irate and thought that it couldn't be possible, Javier denied the conversation and that the contract clearly stated that we hired them to move from Chicago to Orlando. The items picked up were HIGH dollar woodworking equipment and weightlifting machines along with expensive paintings and household furnishings. Now, they wanted $1,800 from us to pay the move to Orlando and another $1,800 for the move back to Chicago. We thought that they were trying to steal out items, so we called Orlando to ask where they were.

We were not surprised when we called La Rosa del Monte at 10208 General Dr, Orlando, FL 32824 (407) 859-6262 to find out that they knew nothing about out items. The first thing that crossed my mind was THEY STOLE THEM. Very upset and not getting anywhere, they referred me to Carlos Figueroa out of New York office La Rosa Del Monte 1133 Tiffany St Bronx NY. 718 991 3300. The first conversation was typical. Although, he was looking for every way out of the situation he listened, and we ended up the conversation agreeing that he was going to investigate and get back to me the next day. The next day came and went, and no call. I gave him a few days and called back. Same: “Sorry, I am almost done with my investigation, and I will get back to you tomorrow." Tomorrow came, and you guessed it, he never called. I called and called, left messages expressing my concern and that I would file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, who governs interstate moving, BBB, StatesAttorneys office Florida and IL, and that I would go to the Internet and let the world know how they treat their customers. You guessed it, again NOTHING.

Finally, I had enough; I called the New York Number 718 991 3300 and at first, they would pick up and hang up without saying anything. I called back; the same thing, called back and I was transferred to his voice mail. Hung up and called again, pick up and hang up. Called again and finally a man picked up and I went off… I figured: “If they were not going to deal with this in a professional matter, then I was going to go down to their level.” I wanted to get it all off my chest so that Mr. Figueroa knew, exactly, what I was going to do. I filed Complaints with every government agency:

Federal Trade Commission, BBB, States Attorneys office for IL and Fl, Yelp review Rip OFF report, Mymovingreviewsreport.com I felt so ripped off that I even bought LAROSADELMONTESUCKS.COM. I plan on making it a forum for unfortunate people that have been ripped off by this moving company, hoping that we can get a class action lawsuit against them. I have already started talking to attorneys. If you are reading this and have a similar story, please email me at [email protected]. Don't take my long winded complaint against them as the reason you don't use this company. Look at all of the other negative reviews from people that have complained against this Company in all the forums. I will soon compile all of the information and post it on my new site larosadelmontesucks.com

We moved our furniture to Puerto Rico in March 2015, we used La Rosa del Monte as the shippers and movers. From the start they arrived four days later then orginally scheduled, due to rescheduling matters. Followed by their refusal to accept any form of verifiable payment, etc.. certified checks or credit cards. Once the furiture arrived they insisted on charging an additional fee for taking the boxes to a second floor, upon our refusal, they left most of the boxed items on the ground ght.floor level exposed to the elements. Out of desperation, we paid an additonal two hundred dollars to have the large boxes taken up one flight. As they unpacked the large boxes we began to uncover damaged items. We attempted to reach someone in the main office, to voice our concerns, without success. we asked them to stop unpacking, paid their requested fee, filed an initial damage report form with the group manager, and then asked them to leave.

After repeated calling we received a claims settlement letter offering us sixty cents(.60) per pound, for the damaged items, as per their insurance policy. We are currently awaiting a civil determination hearing (Comision de Servicios Publico) before proceeding against La Rosa Del Monte, in the Puerto Rico Supreme Court, on insurance fraud. followed by the United States District Court, on interState racketerring. We are currently seeking the names of other persons who have been victims of La Rosa del Monte, to join with Chicargo group, in a Class Action Mandamus. Lets stop these unscrupulous people once and for all.
