Latelier cafe / Raphael and Charlotte Farsy are liars and total frauds. The story of them coming to Palm Springs on their honeymoon, owning a bakery in France, is a tissue of lies. Facts are : 1/ Raphael Farsy has never owned a bakery in France, has never been a chef or a bakery chef and fact is, he can't even boil water. She has no culinary experience and never owned a bakery or restaurant in France. 3/There are no family recipes, they get everything from the Internet. 4/The name l'atelier is copied from l'atelier in Vegas of Joel Robuchon : mgmgrand.com/en/restaurants/latelier-joel-robuchon-french-restaurant.html He would be appalled to see this 2 jokers riding on his name.
5/Raphael and Charlotte Farsy lie to their customers all the time, particularly by claiming that the bread, the pastries, the macaroons and the crepes are home made. Truth is they buy it all frozen from a local wholesaler and from Trader Joes. See pictures attached of boxes In their freezer. It is all pure fabrication to make a beautiful story and for marketing purposes. 6/ They keep all the tips to themselves, stealing from their staff. They ran after me and reprimanded me over $3 that was left on a table that I took care of. Telling me the "tips are for us not you". 7/They are so stingy that they keep used butter and sauces as well as unfinished bread and other dishes used by customers and re serve it to other customers, they freeze old unused and used lettuce to make soups. They freeze and re serve old croissants for the next day. They save glasses of left over wine to re serve it. All that to save a few pennies. If the health department showed up in the middle of a rush they would closed down the place. 8/ They do not buy disinfectant cleaning product for cleaning work tables in the kitchen etc in order to save money. They just clean with water and old sponges instead. 9/ there are often bugs and ants in the kitchen but they never call a professional exterminator in order to save money. 10/ They do not report there part-time employees ( dishwashers, busboys ) to save on payroll taxes defrauding the IRS and California tax Franchise board. 11/They often overcharged their customer's bills or they deceive customers by asking if they want a side of this or that making customer believe it is included....it never is, they want to run up the bill. 12/They overcharged me $15 when I bought some items ( did not even get any discount) and she refused to reimburse me. 13/They keep cash money, committing income and sales tax fraud. 14/they leave there staff without paychecks while they go on exotic vacations, buy new cars and expensive electronic gadgets. 15/they are mean, abusive and horrible to anyone below them (employees and subordinates). 16/ Charlotte is her husband's lap dog but takes all her aggression on subordinates by being mean and abusive, the sick part is she enjoys it. Behind the "adorable " and sweet smile in their pictures lies the stingiest, meanest people you could ever meet that would do and say any lies and bs to make or save a buck. Beware: If you are a customer watch your bill, chances are you have been overcharged and deceived. If you do business with them they will always try to rip you off, or find ways to delay payments or not pay you at all. It is a hobby.
