Kwik Kar Lube and Tune Reviews

This place is a major rip off without anyone working there that knows about cars or is willing to learn. Went in for an inspection. Told them that the ABS lights were lit on the dash including the brake light which is part of the system. Asked them if they would inspect it knowing that nothing was wrong and that it was the ABS. They said yes and inspected the car. They failed the car because the ABS lights were on. What, yes they failed it for what they said they would not fail it for. Now I am red lined in the computer and have to get it fixed for $1800 for a car that is worth $1500 but running and in good shape. They are liars and deciteful. Do not do business there.

This place charged me 600.00 and guarented me the car would be fixed and pass inspection. i told them i thought it was the cat converter-they said no i tune-up is al it needed, drove in with no power and drove off with no power. then they said it was trans then front cat converter and finally had a another garage check the car and they said it was the back one. they figured it out.

My eighty eight year old Mother took her car in for an oil change & safety inspection. She was told her car failed due to a power steering pump leak, defective serpentine belt, and dirty engine coolant. When she called me, I told her to just have the oil/filter service done.

I picked car up that evening and took to my shop. No power steering pump leak. The serpentine belt had been replaced two years ago, and not one crack! Coolant......maybe 5 years ago. But, what really got to me, when the car was in the air........I noticed the old oil filter had not been replaced!

I had the car inspected at Southlake Kwik Kar. No problem. I drove to Kwik Kar in Farmers Branch. I asked to see the Manager. The young man at the counter, Max, said that was he. He remembered Mom, and the situation of the p/s leak. I told him there was no leak, but that is not what I wanted to ask about. He said he would get Mike, the former manager that worked on the car, to come in and answer any questions. By the way.....these managers must be related since neither has a last name as indicated by their business card!

When I asked Mike why he said a perfectly good serpentine belt needed to be replaced for $109, he said he needed to go back to shop because he had cars to work on. I said I bet you do! I then asked why he didn't change the oil filter that was charged on my Mom's invoice. He just glared at me. I told them that they should be ashamed of treating senior citizens this way. I said I would be letting people know of their deceit. Never once, did either of them deny, or say they wanted to look at her car to disprove my claim. What does that tell you? Mike did utter "Have a nice day" when I went out the door.

These are the lowest of the low! These guys give the Kwik Kar brand a bad name. Hopefully enough people will take the time to let consumers know of these scumballs at this location, and they will working in a job they deserve!
