I took my car to this shop upon a recommendation from a friend. I was told my camshaft needed to be replaced. They assured me that they could fix this even though they are an oil change and car inspection shop similar to Valvoline.
After two weeks in their shop, the car was returned to me with the assurance that it was fixed. Within a week it began losing coolant. I took the car back asking them to figure out what was wrong because I was charged over 2700.00 for the repair. They then told me there was another repair that needed to be made that would cost me another 300.00.
They refused to take responsibility to fix their mistakes. I was informed by two outside mechanics (not affiliated with Kwik Kar) that they did not repair my car correctly which almost ruined my engine. I tried numerous times to speak to the owner, Steve Cooper. He only goes to his office four times a month so it was impossible to speak to him.
I began calling him in May 2019. I left messages with John (asst. manager) and Kyle (manager). I also went to the shop and gave them hand written notes asking for Steve to call me. I left my business card with the assistant manager and store manager that had my personal cell, work cell, and work email printed on the business card.
Therefore, Steve Cooper, the owner had three methods of communication that he could have used to reach out to me. I made diligent efforts to rectify the situation in a fair and cordial manner. Unfortunately Steve chose to ignore these attempts until I threatened a lawsuit. Miraculously, two days later after I made this treat, Steve finally called me. It took from May 2019 to September 2019 for the owner to call me.
I provided documentation that showed what had to be fixed with the second repair and he is still refused to take responsibility. Kwik Kar has caused surmountable damage to my car. They didn't repair my car, THEY MADE IT WORSE!!!
The second mechanic who fixed my car correctly, provided documentation that Kwik Kar made numerous mistakes. He also stated that I am EXTREMELY lucky the motor wasn't permanently ruined. A lawsuit has been filed. The damage was so severe that the second mechanic took 33 days to refix my car!!!!
