Kreps Law Firm, LLC Reviews

  • May 30, 2016

Mr. Kreps is an extraordinarily gifted attorney. However, you DO NOT want to work for him.

In the almost 6 years I worked for him, 9 office workers left this firm. ALL were "fired". He will tell you all of them had attitude problems. He will tell you I left on my own. However, when he says on the phone "you are fired", I took it as him firing me and so I left my home office. There is a common denominator in all of this and that is Mr. Kreps himself. He has a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde personality.

One minute he is giving someone a hard time (see examples below) and the next he seems very apologetic and nice. However, the nice part wouldn't last long as he would go back to giving someone a difficult time over anything and everything. It was not unusual for a worker to be on the phone with him in tears (including myself). We had conversations about his approach and the way he talks to people. It would be fine for a while and then boom, the not so nice personality would emerge.

When I had to have back surgery 3 years ago and needed 2 weeks off, he threatened to fire me even though I had given him 3 weeks' notice and my doctor said I couldn't hold off any longer; I needed the surgery as soon as possible. I did have the surgery on a Friday and went back to work after just 1 week off at his request. Since the pain wasn't too bad, I willingly went back early and have no regrets about my decision to go back earlier than planned.

Last April I was extremely ill and texted him to let him know I was going to the E.R. He responded telling me I need to get my work done and go to the E.R at the end of the day. I chose to go to the E.R., had 2 breathing treatments, massive doses of an antibiotic and massive doses of prednisone both through an IV. I had pneumonia. I took 2 days off.

When I asked for a week off in June or July, he said "so you leave Wednesday and come back Monday?". I told him I wanted a whole week off and he did agree to it. In prior years, all but 1 of my vacations I had to work while I was on vacation. It wasn't the full day but had to put in 3 to 4 hours each day. Who wants to work while in Las Vegas?

What did I do at the law firm? In the beginning, I worked part-time with current clients. The last 3 1/2 years I worked on the potential side of things full-time. I enjoyed my work. It was challenging and I really loved talking to people on the phone to help them. After doing that for 1 year, I asked for a raise since I was doing a great job and had much more responsibility than I had before. He said he would rather give me a monthly bonus than increase my hourly wage which I was fine with. We came to an agreement about the structure of the bonus. When he fired me April 19, 2016, I had already brought in a substantial amount of sales and I was due a bonus for the half of April I was there as well as the hours I worked Tuesday before I was fired.

Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde reared his ugly head and he has refused to pay me the $745 I am owed for the bonus and the few hours of work that last day. He will tell you I only get a bonus if I work the entire month. That isn't right since my bonus was based upon my daily work. Since I was an outside contractor, I can't do anything about what he owes me.

Why am I posting this in such a public forum? I could give you many more examples but I won't. I don't argue the point that Mr. Kreps has an incredible legal mind. He has definitely found his calling. However, when there is no continuity in staff to support him, it seems like someone is always in training to learn how to do their job. Mr. Kreps needs to do the right thing (a common phrase of his) and pay me for the work performed and the incredible job I did the first half of April; especially since I was heading for a record breaking month.
