I had Knapp Law Office assist with cleaning my driving record over the period of a couple years. I normally spoke with the secretary in the front who was always very sweet and made it easy to know what I needed to do on my part. I only met Mr. Knapp maybe once and my experience with him was not unpleasant.
Forward to now: As anyone with an out-of-date phone knows, sometimes you miss calls and messages and may not get notified for days, if at all. Preparing to leave the country, I decided to clear my phone of old info I no longer needed. I listened to a voicemail from this law office which asked that I get back to them ASAP. The voice that answered the phone was bold and rushed. I repeatedly tried to ask the women what I needed to do seeing as I would have to ask a friend to help while I was gone. Rather than explain things coherently, she began to yell a list of demands and insults.
I calmly asked for clarification because I could not understand what she had yelled and she continuously stated "I am tried of repeating myself”. So I hung up. Knowing that I still needed this info, I had a friend take me to the office so I could maybe speak with someone who understands that English is not my native language. Sadly, I was forced to talk to the same women. I entered her office and nicely apologized for the awkward phone call before.
She ironically tells me that she is tired of repeating herself before complaining about her hurt foot, her daily drive from Fort Worth and her long working hours. I guess my existence added to her upsetting life. She continued to loudly tell me that she has gone to a couple of extra court dates free-of-charge for me because she cares for her clients. If I know one thing in life its that everything is a choice. If it’s such a big issue, simply don’t waste your time.
You can’t blame others for your choices, unless you’re this woman. She then yelled numerous times "would you work for free?” See the irony in the consistent repetition? While in her office, she slammed papers down towards me multiple times. She mentioned that my English isn’t too bad and asks why I could not understand her on the phone. I respond that it was the yelling that made it hard to know what was going on. So she decided to scream "THIS IS WHAT YELLING SOUNDS LIKE! I WAS NOT YELLING!” before loudly saying that the judges in court will show me what yelling is. I didn’t have a chance to remind her for the fortieth time that I was literally leaving the country the next day so meeting with judges was not going to happen. I guess she just needed another thing to spew out at me.
I finally asked nicely "is that all?” hoping she would unhand my documents so I could leave. My friend stood outside the office window this whole time and just wanted to make sure I was ready to leave and was ok since I was shaking. Before I could reassure my friend I was fine, the woman yells that we had to leave [her] property and then proceeds to offer "personally escorting” us away. As we turn to leave she runs to the door to yell outside that we are not allowed back and she would have us arrested. Once again, I was leaving the county the next day, so that was rather redundant.
For someone who hates to repeat herself, but does so unnecessarily, she doesn’t exactly listen well. I wish I had read the many terrible reviews before doing business here. In nearly 10 years in Texas I have never been treated so poorly. The fact that she threatened my American friend, who did absolutely nothing the whole time, just shows that this woman wanted to take out the frustration of her miserable life on a powerless individual. My happy ending is knowing that half the world now separates me from such an unprofessional person.
