Went out of my way to go to one of the few remaining Kmarts in my area 9/4/2017. Most Kmarts have been closed. Bought Scott toilet paper and had attached 15% off discount and $0.50 off vendor coupon to my "Shop Your Way Rewards account card. Asked cashier to ring up Scott toilet paper separately so that it would not interfere with another discount percentage reward coupon. Only got the $0.50 vendor coupon off (not the 15%) so KMart not out anything. Then had coupon: "We want you back" for $15 off $40. Got over $40 worth and register said minimum purchase not made. Cashier said I must have bought some sale items. Checked fine print when I got home (hadn't gotten that far because it is like reading a book, to see it didn't include Pet Food, which is half of what I had, even though they hardly had any cat food left. Store dirty, shelves empty in certain areas. HMong cashier was very nice but I wasn't happy. To top it off alarm went off when I tried to leave with the toilet paper I paid more than I should of for. In the meantime USA had an article in March about how the CEO, Eddie Lampert is cashing in as the stores cash out. According to a Forbes article he has his 288 ft. yacht which was docked in Charleston, SC on 8/18/2017 and on other sites yacht had been docked in Boston Harbor on 8/14/2017. For some reason people thought this yacht belonged to Mark Cuban in the past.
This is a addition to a report I read about Kmart and Why not Lease. So we had moved to Utah in June of 2016. In July of 2016 we walked into a Kmart to look at some merchandise. It was in the evening about 8pm. I was surprised that the store was completely vacant except for maybe one customer in the whole store. (The new Walmart next to the Kmart was packed). Anyways, we needed a new bed in one of the bedroom s of our new home. And I walk by some Thempupurdic mattress and see that their a little over $200. At the time we couldn't afford it. But, while we are paying for our merchandise we notice that Kmart has a layaway program. Or at least we were led to believe it was a layaway program by the employees. And also by the advertising of Kmart. Well read the fine print on your paperwork people. Cause we didn't. It's not a layaway program. Quite simply, it's a lease with the option to buy.
At full price!!!! After 11 months of paying for this lease. My wife says. "Can you check on this layaway from Kmart, their still pulling $70 from my account." So I call this company, Why not Lease. And they tell me that we've been leasing this mattress. And we can get out of our lease by buying the mattress at full price. Or continue leasing. Or return the merchandise. So to return the merchandise you can't take it to your "local" Kmart. I would have to drive it or ship it to New Hampshire.
Bottom line. The Lay away program advertised by Kmart is disinformation. It's not a Lay a way at all. It's a Lease. Read your paperwork. And avoid having merchandise or service s automatically pulled from your account. Shame on Kmart for false advertising that you can purchase items on a Lay away program. A lie is a lie no matter how you look at it. And quite frankly, we were lied to.
Ordered furniture online since my husband is disabled and I am unable to lift. It was only a dresser but we received a much smaller media center in error. I called KMart to get the correct item. They will not send the correct item unless I deliver the original piece to a store 45 minutes away and then place a new order for the one I wanted. This process would be OK if it was my idea to exchange but it was their error and I had coupons to use on the first purchase which are no longer valid so I would have to pay more to repurchase the item I wanted. I spoke to three different people in customer service and they just kept repeating that I needed to place a new order if I wanted the item I originally ordered. Because of our circumstances I order online alot and have never had a policy like this when it was the shippers error.
I got a Lease to own on Kmart,it was a TV paid for it. They always got the money since they take it out of your check. Ok went back six months later to get something else. Filled out the apllication and I was denied, after they check my credit which the numbers go down every time someone checks it. I ask why if they always got the money for the TV and it was paid for, they toll me they could not give me an explanation. Can you believe that.? Ok three months pass I try again and I got a recording telling me I was denied, but they could not give me the reason. Can you believe that again, a RECORDING. No wonder Walmart is taking over. Kmart customer service is the worst of the worst. I deserve a reason I got approve the first time. Why NOT the second time????
I purchased a 14 kt gold chain necklace. It broke within 2 weeks. I took it to jewelry store to get it repaired. The jeweler informed me that the necklace was fake. I called customer service. I was told there was nothing they can do.
Purcashed a ARMITRON wrist watch today... opened it in the store to set the time... it would not work... took back to jewelery counter where sales clerk said it needed a battery, they did not have one, so I asked for a refund... The store is going out of business and it does say NO REFUNDS... my obvious concern is they are selling defective merchandise and even though the watch never worked, I was refused a refund or credit... I was willing to buy another watch, no problem... I was not looking for my money back, just a watch that worked...
I took the watch to WALMART who put a new battery in but it still would not work. The jewelry manager could not have been more helpful... she would NOT take money for trying to help me and told me to contact ARMITRON as they may help.
It is no wonder Kmart is going out of business... they deserve to... Management is terrible and the executives hide behind the underpaid sales staff.
LET THE BUYER BEWARE at the soon to be buried KMART
Kmart and Whynotlease it is the biggest rip off. Don't use them. Put your items on layaway. My lease items which are a washer and dryer was 600.00 dollars. I paid 871 so far and was told I owe an addition 300.00 if I pay it off. I called KMart to return it and was told that if I had if over 30 days that it cant be returned. I cant believe KMart does that to the consumers and has a relationship with a company that is ripping people off.
I was looking at emails one evening. I got one from a secret shopper company, I was not sure I wanted to do this but was sort of interested. so I went to the site and decided not to do it.
two days later I recieved a text ( never gave anything to these people ) that if I wanted to accept the assignment which would be my first then to text this company back. I never tried to contact them back. today 5/4/16 I recieved in the mail a priority envelope with a set of instrcutions back and front with a check for $th2550 the check was a cashiers check.
I was looking at the letter with instructions in it, I was to take $300 for myself as payment and go to kmart and walmart do some shopping with another $100. then take the rest of the money out of my bank and go to two western union and send 1.050 to one address in the Phillipines and the other to another person in the phillipines, use $50 for the wire transfer, total of $2,150. come home and send him a scanned copy of the reciept from the western union, to him.
if I did not have a scanner then send him by email the exact amount of the transfers and the 10 digit code numbers on the receipts. I had to tell them the time I sent it and where I sent it from. I have the check and the paper also. none is signed by this man. the check had an unreadable signature on it but at the top left corner it said a womans name.
I will gladly give this letter to legal persons if they can prove they are legal. this is really bad I am 68 yrs, old on a fixed income and do not need to deposit a check in the bank and wait for 24 to 48 hours for it to clear if it is a cashiers check it should be easily cashed without wait, also it was suppose to be written on a bank from Tenn., first farmers bank in fact.
I have been a customer at Kmart/Sears/Lands End for YEARS. Kmart always has adverstised sales that require a purchase and in return, your account will be credited back points. For instance, buy $12 worth of Dove product get $3 in points. Well, sometimes the promotion works and sometimes ( most) of the time, it DOES NOT WORK. So I will return the item. ALot of the times shopping in a kmart store, I will be overcharged because the product is in the wrong spot or they use the wrong sales tag OR they leave up last week sales tags. So shopping there is quite a hassle. Now, the bigger issue is the Loss Prevention for Kmart started harrassing myself and my 3 children for bringing these issues to their attention and because I would return the items that would not generate the points. Or because I would ask them to honor their mistakes. They started calling other stores in this area to "warn" them about me. The reason I know this is because alot of the employees told me that I have a target on my back because I try to make them honor their mistakes. ALot of customers will walk out of the store and not complain about being overcharged because the kmart managers refuse to honor any of their price mistakes. They make it VERY hard to get a price adjustment. I told one of the managers that I saw one of his employees committing fraud by signing people up for the warranty plan with out their persmission. She tried to do it my husband and he caught it.
My husband and I went to k mart in calcutta ohio today. We spent about 3 hours loading our cart with a mountain of things for our kids for Christmas. We went to lay away and stood there for about 20 minutes while there was one person in front of us. It was getting late so we decided we will just go up front and just buy it all instead of putting it in lay away. We go and check out. My husband hands her $350 in cash and says he will put the rest on his bank card. The cashier accidently hit $350 cash twice on accident. Our total was for over $700. So an assistant manager came over and instead of being able to just go back and fix it in the computer they say they have to ring everything up again or put it in by hand the numbers. I told her we had to hurry up. She was rude from the start and said well this is what I have to do or her drawer will be off and she will be fired for it. It was after 8:30pm and we both have to work in the morning and our kids are with the babysitter and need to get to bed for school in the morning. So she started doing it by numbers by hand. She comes up with a total that's about $20 more than the original receipt that they rang up the actual items on. She gets an attitude with us and says we just have to wait while she searches for her mistake. I asked for a manager. The manager comes over and says she saw us waiting forever for the lay away line and I explained to her what happened. How we now had been waiting at least 30 minutes for these people to fix the mistake they made while ringing it all up. The manage proceeds to stare at the receipt and computer for several minutes still not getting the correct total. She still was getting a wrong total by over $20 and kept saying we had to wait while she looked for her mistake. Trying to charge over $20 more now than what the items cost when they were physically rang up. I said "so you guys messed up and are now trying to charge us more money? Could you please just get this done.. We have to work and get our son to bed for school in the morning." The manager replied "well I have to get home to my husband so he can go to work and now I'll be here late doing this." She had a completely rude attitude. We did nothing wrong but we got nothing but attitude from 2 managers. They had already turned off many lights in the store because their mistake was taking past closing time for them to fix. After the attitude we got from not one but 2 managers I decided it was enough. I wanted to get home. The manager told us they could hold our 2 carts full of items until 10am tomorrow but no later than that. I told her we had to work and couldn't get back in the morning like that. She said the carts had to stay until they could find the mistake they made on the hand types in receipt that they couldn't find for well over 30 minutes or so now. She said that's all she could for us. Never once offered to compensate us in any way for their mistakes or attitude. Instead just try to charge us more money and still want us to stand there as they try to find their mistake on the receipt. After over 40 minutes of this I had enough and we walked out. Got a babysitter for our kids so we could get Christmas shopping started and spent hours in the store just to leave empty handed due to their mistakes. Over $700 of business K mart in calcutta ohio lost due to their mistake and their complete ignorance. We will never shop there again and especially never again for Christmas. Most ignorant staff I've ever encountered.I will gladly take my business to walmart from now on.
Beware warantys are fine line with kmart received a electric fireplace for christmas by febuary it was brke store told me to contact kmart corporation kmart corporatio told me to contact store finally kmart told me i should receive a new part in may its now august contacted kmart they told me to contact manufacturing basically so sad to bad they sell junk and there waranty is not worth the paper its printed on
I started a layaway with them July 29th, paid it off on August 7th. I still have no idea when they are going to ship my 200 bucks worth of kids clothes. I have spoken with 5 reps, all of whom gave me bogus answers about needing so many business days ect. I was told by the first one that my computer was slow and cached, to unplug my computer and it would show as shipped. Stupid broad gave stupid answer., I tried another one, who told me stuff would be here within two days, That was four days ago. I spoke with another one who escalated it, and the response I got from the escalation team was a bogus link that doesn't work. I spoke with another one who said it would ship within five business days. That time frame had passed. I spoke with one today who cut off the chat because he certainly doesn't care that I don't have my kids school clothes. I guess I better get shopping at Walmart, because school starts tomorrow and they don't have their clothes. $200 is just wasted.
Kmart.com Reviews
First of all, the five page lease agreement is deliberately confusing and inaaccurate.
When I went to the store to purchase my items on the program, the only thing I was told
is that I would have payments then the option to buyout.I never signed no lease agreement.
I wound up paying over $800. for a $279 TV, before I realised.
DO NOT PLAY INTO THIS SCAM
Kmart will not tell you the real deal
check on your lease. Make sure you know what you are really gonna pay.
