I have a top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas range, KSGB900ESS0, original cost $2,400. Some parts of the oven are no longer in warranty. Two months ago, the oven would not go on and display was showing an error. I contacted the KitchenAid authorized repair. They came on site and determined 2 parts needed to be ordered. It is now 2 months later, and they are still waiting for the part. Every two weeks the authorized repair company would inform us that the part was due in 2 more weeks. I contacted the Whirlpool parts dept., KitchenAid's parent co. and warehouse. They said the part was still not due for another 4 months. Assuming the part arrives in 4 months, this is a total of 6 months without use of the oven.
I contacted KitchenAid several times and spoke to a higher level of support. The outcome was I just have to wait. My suggestion to get the same part, which was available from outside distributors, was not accepted. I suggested to get the part from an existing oven in their warehouse, or to just replace the oven were also rejected.
This is still a current model sold in most appliance stores. There is no reason for KitchenAid to not plan for parts to support their sales and customers. And if circumstances brought about this situation, then KitchenAid should go the extra step and do what is needed to support their customers. Would anyone buy a car from a company who could not get parts? The Kitchen Aid solution to just wait 6 months or more without the use of their oven is unacceptable.
The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system.
We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. There products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.
I bought the kitchenAid KDTM354ESS dishwasher based on Consumer Reports recommendation... paid almost $1,000 for "quietest and best dishwasher on the market"
If this is truly the best on the market then forget ever buying a dishwasher and get out the scrub brush and dishpan. This one is a dungpile!
It is quite silent and very energy and water efficient while it doesn't clean your dishes!
If you eat only dry crackers and drink tap water this device may be able to clean your dishes properly but it is useless cleaning anything that ressembles food residue on any tableware. I even switched to using the KitchenAid recommended detergent pouches and use only the heavy soil "pro-scrub" heated washing water cycle for ALL dishes - even if just lightly soiled - and still 20% of them come out with lots food residue. Forget ever washing a coffee cup or a cereal bowl... it will leave half of the coffee or cereal in it. Absolute zero performance on blueberry, coffee, mashed potatoes and oatmeal.
The machine has dozens of fancy sounding options for various levels of washing, drying, scrubbing, rinsing, sensing etc. but they are totally wasted because even the lightest load won't come clean with the toughest wash cycle. The "Soil-Sense" TM setting was amazingly efficient at leaving more filth on the dishes than even the light china setting...Maybe "Soil Sense" means "maximize residual soil on dishes".
This looks like a great example of an over engineered product that can't do the most basic function it was designed to do. Maybe someone got too busy thinking that being silent and environmentally efficient was so important that cleaning dishes became a secondary concern,
I bought this evil device to replace my previous KitchenAid dishwasher which was absolutely fantastic but on its last leg after 21 years of service.
The rails on the "high end" Kitchenaid dishwasher KDTM354EBS we purchased are held together by 1 mm aluminum rivets, and they rusted and broke on our unit in just 3 weeks. This is supposed to be a high end, stainless steel "brand name" product. We expected we'd brag about it and own it for 10 years or more. Instead, neither Kitchenaid nor Home Depot would replace or refund the product after multiple, lengthy calls with customer service, including a conference call with both of them at the same time where they did the "he went thataway" act. What a couple of Looney Tunes outfits! We're not going to be fixing this piece of garbage every 3 weeks. We kissed $1000 goodbye, took the product to the curb, and we're looking at a Bosch. In the meantime, we had to hand-wash our Thanksgiving dishes because they weren't willing to even send a repairman for two weeks--after we waited 40 minutes multiple times for the blessing of speaking to their customer service--and when the scheduled service date arrived, and no one came, they had the nerve to deny knowing of any appointment--after we waited 40 minutes to find out why they didn't show.
The product is a heap of junk, the warranty is worthless, and the companies don't give a d**n as long as they have their money. Never again will we walk into a Home Depot, or consider a Kitchenaid-Maytag-Whirlpool product, and we'll use physical force to keep friends and family from making the same mistake we made by even looking at their websites!
In november 2016 i bought what i thought was a new kitchen Aide artisan stand mixer. I recieved a used one. I called kitchen aid and told them it was used. We arranged to send it back with fed ex. They recieved the mixer back on Nov 7,2016. It was sighned for by J Stappleton at 9:02 AM. They refused to give me my money back. The first excuse was that they did not recieve it. The second excuse was that it was not the one they sent me. I have tried repeatedly to get my money back. My bank bank of america has tried to get my money back. Here it is 2017 and they have not refunded my $335.00. They have been cheating many people out of money. Go to pissedoffconsumers website and you can see the stories of all the people kitchen aide has cheated. I'm disabled and sick a lot. I have no one to help. A lawyer wants $2,500.00 retainer. please help me. I am an honest person who has been cheated. please please help.
The Kitchenaid warranty program is a total scam. Each diswasher repair took 2 months to complete. Built-in obsolescence on purpose to slow down the process and frustrate you so you don't actually use it. First they come out. Then they order the part. They they come out again...after multiple reminders. They kept using seconhand refurbished parts that kept breaking.
This is not an isolated incident. This has happenend on THREE seperate occaisions...because they did such terrible job that it kept breaking.
Kitchenaid may be a great company. But this warrantee program is the worst we have ever seen in our lives.
We bought a $1000.00 range hood during our kitchen renovation. It was put in but couldn't be hooked up to the electricity due to the fact no power cord was supplied.
When I called I was told "Oh the unit has to be hard wired into the electricity. I asked where in their literature or on line does it say that, all I got was dead silence. Nothing they can do for me, have to hire an electrician because they can't take the time to disclose you need to have it professionally installed. Home Depot who I bought it from doesn't list anything on their site either.
If you can't be honest and upfront stop scamming consumers.
Trust me KitchenAid is no where near what it used to be in terms of quality and "the" thing to buy. Useless company and service.
