We recently lost our 5 year old boy, Boulder, that we got from Josh and Jamie at kingfisher's Alaskan malamutes after years of trying to find out what was wrong with him. We had him to numerous specialists and ran every test possible but in the end the pain was too much for him and the best we know is that it was "unexplained neurological issues". After we lost him, we left messages for Josh asking him to please call us as we have since heard from other breeders that they have heard of the same thing happening with other pups from the same litter/parents. They didn't even have the decency to return our calls. Looking back, we should have been wary after the first pup we had on hold with them died before they were supposed to ship him and they didn't tell us until the day before we thought we were picking him up - he had been sick for a few days and they just stalled us until they had no choice but to tell us. Then when our boy Boulder came, he showed up with a serious bladder infection and was quite ill many times in his first years with us. Boulder was the love of our lives, he was a beautiful soul - I just wanted people looking for a pup to know that these guys didn't care enough to contact us, either when there were issues with other pups from the same parents or when we lost him. It's heartbreaking to watch a pet you love go through so much and not be able to help - I would never ever recommend these guys as breeders to get pups from. And if anybody else out there is having unexplained neurological and pain episodes with a pup from them, my heart breaks for you.
