I am writing this complaint because I want to protect future shoppers. I had purchased a dryer from King Appliance in Dundas Ontario (Also know as Best Buy Appliance and Canadian Appliance Liquidation) The owner Mike Sutton is an extremely rude and dishonest man. He sold us a used dryer which had been freshly painted inside, we were unaware of the wet paint until we took out our dry clothing out of the dryer. We had 3 pairs of pants 4 tops and undergarments that were covered in white paint. We were very upset and called the store and Mike Sutton’s cell phone immediately. There was no answer at either phone so we left voice messages. We never received a phone call back to our numerous voice messages. We had to physically go back into the store to see how he was going to compensate us for the damaged clothing. He was not there but we spoke to his employee. The Employee working there promised to give him our message and have him call us. We of course did not receive a call back from him. So therefore, we continue to leave voice messages and went back 3 more time to the store.

We finally tracked Mike Sutton down in his store. He apologized to us and acted surprise that there was wet paint in the dryer. He told us that he would replace the dryer, all we had to do was bring the dryer back. We brought the dryer back that day and received a replacement dryer that was of lesser value dryer than the one we originally agreed to purchased. This dryer was defective and would not dry our clothing fully. It would take 1.5 hours to dry a load completely. (expensive and costly due to hydro cost). We were very disappointed with the defective dryer and called Mike Sutton again and left numerous phone messages and dropped over to the store many times hoping to return the dryer. After the 4th time dropping over to the store we were able to meet up with Mike Sutton and he was extremely rude to us and told us that if we brought the dryer back on Saturday at 9:00 am he would give us our money back. We brought the dryer back as promised at 9:00 am Saturday morning, and the store was closed. We waited for over an hour and called Mike Sutton’s cell phone many times but did not get a response. We were very unhappy with the treatment we were receiving. We were shocked that a small business in a small town would be so unprofessional.

I went back on the Monday with the dryer in the back of our pickup truck insisting on the refund that he promised. Mike Sutton made excuses that he did not have any cash on him and would have to go to the bank. We have 4 banks in Dundas 3 minutes walking distance away from his store. I explained to Mike Sutton due to his untrustworthy behaviour I blocked his vehicle and explained that I would not be moving my vehicle until he walked to the bank and got my money. He than called me a B _ _ _ h and left the store on foot. He never returned and had me wait in his dirty smoke infested store for 2.5 hours. I never received my money back and can no believe that he can run a business in our beautiful Dundas Town. It is a horrible feeling to know that someone can rip people off and think they can get away with it It would give me great satisfaction if I can deter any potential customer from purchasing from a horrible man. I highly recommend DO NOT BUY FROM King Appliance in Dundas Ontario (Also know as Best Buy Appliance and Canadian Appliance Liquidation). Sad thing is Mike Sutton has gotten away with cheating people by changing the business name. Thank god for Karma! “What goes around comes around”
