I bought a new RV with a nice floor plan. The problems started almost immediately, within a week of using the RV. The workmanship was so poor that trim work was falling off, plumbing was leaking, water came in from an outside leak and the black water drain valve was assembled wrong making it most difficult to open.
Plus a few other minor issues such as the front door not well aligned and seat cushions that were supposed to have Velcro the didn’t. The hinges on the lift-up bed snapped. I tried to use the dealership for warranty work. They couldn’t get me in for at least 2-3 months and then couldn’t estimate how long it would take to fix.
I could not do without my RV for that long, so I called Keystone and found out how use a mobile tech. I had to have them out three times and submitted my invoices and pictures as instructed. Keystone never responded to my submission. I had to keep calling (at least four times) to find out the status of my reimbursement.
After each call, I was promised someone would call me back. It never happened! Finally, on my last call, I find out all my invoices were denied because the mobile tech did not document well enough. Everything the tech repaired was documented. Bottom line is I am out between $500 and $1000 with no hope of recovery of money I spend due to poor workmanship.
Getting a lawyer to fight them would cost me more, so basically I was cheated by Keystone. I do not recommend anyone buy a Keystone RV! The quality is poor and customer service is terrible. They are a big company taking advantage of average folks.
I have a 2021 Keystone Passport GT 2400RB. It's a piece of JUNK. I have made five or six 300 mile round trips to have my camper worked on. Fridge door warped. Cabinet door warped. Big chunk of plywood was missing from the end of the bed and splintered out. Someone took a new bed out of another camper and replaced it with a used one that was ripped on the bottom, Stabilizer jacks only worked on one side. Top of shower door was broken.
Every single time I drove the camper somewhere, about half of the light covers would jiggle loose and come off. Last time I took it to get something fixed, 5 of them had fallen off the inside of the camper. Bedroom and Bathroom doors would keep coming off the track. Shades screws in two places just popped out of the wall. One more shade will not come down. Sawdust still comes out everywhere after you have taken it somewhere. Most have been fixed. Here is the kicker. I climbed on the ladder on the back of the camper to walk on the roof and the ladder broke and I fell on the hard surface on my back.
In bed for a total on and off for over 2 weeks. Did Keystone care? Not one single bit. I was given a $750.00 goodwill check with extra attached to it for a new mattress I bought. That didn’t even make a dent in my losses of lots of money. That doesn't count the injury to me due to the negligence of Keystone RV for not securing a ladder on the back of the camper correctly. I have had my camper for 6 months. That is half of the factory warranty. I asked them to extend my warranty and they refused. They asked me what I wanted. I said I would settle for $5000.00 and extend my warranty. They refused that also.
I am going to let the news media, the Attorney General’s office, the court system, and do other things so this doesn’t happen again to someone else. I am the type who will never sit still for something done wrong to me. They will probably reply with a standard answer like most. I wish I had read the BBB reviews before I bought this lemon piece of JUNK. I will not stop until Keystone stops taking advantage of people. I have already talked to a lot on Facebook and other sites about the problems they have. This is far from over.
I forgot to mention that the propane regulator is bad on my unit and there is a recall on it and it will be February before I can buy one since KEYSTONE is out of them. I ordered one that will not be here until about February 10th 2022. By then, that should eat up most of my warranty. UPDATE :They offered me a $1800.00 settlement, but after reading the release form they sent me to sign I refused it and told them to keep the money. They basically want me to sign a piece of paper saying I hold nobody with Keystone RV or the dealer I bought it from responsible for anything.
They also said in so many words I need to keep my mouth shut and not tell people anything about the problems I had with Keystone RV and not to discuss it with anyone and that’s a joke, so they can keep the money they offered and I am stuck with this piece of junk. UPDATE: 12/21/2021. Today I woke up to a phone call from the Director Of Operations for Keystone RV. His name is Steve Holmes. He offered to buy back my camper for what I paid for it. I told him I owed more than what I paid for it. It is called interest.
He wanted to know what I wanted and I hung up on him. Heck, I can make more by selling it myself. Since he wanted to know what I wanted, I emailed him and said, since they caused my injuries, then pay off my camper and I get to keep it. And now I will copy and paste his response. I have more proof. Keystone will purposely try and twist the story around to their advantage.
We have a 2017 Keystone Premire, lots of small problems like furnace duct work not connected properly, saw dust everywhere they cut a hole for electrical or pumbing, straping on the ceiling falling off. In August 2018 bigger problems were CO2 not going off when one of the stove dials were left on by mistake. Biggest problem was the axil pin was not set into hole provided which has caused our trailer to lean to the right and wear out our tires and cause a leak to one of the grey tanks. We had no idea the trailer was leaning until we were followed by family and they took pics.
Keystone was sent pictures of the axil pin out of place, the condition of our tires and of the grey tank leak, our trailer was at the dealership for over 8 months trying to sort out who's problem this was, warranty company says its a manufacturing defect, keystone blamed DEXTER who makes the axils, but DEXTER does not assemble the trailers. In the end Keystone says it's our fault as we overloaded our trailer and did not check the bearings on the 1st year anniversary of us owning it.
Keystone will not take responiblity for their poor workmanship, in the end we had to pay to get our trailer back, not happy and do not recommend any trailers that are under the THOR umbrella.
To anyone who is looking for a trailer please do your homework and investigate the trailer company and see if they fall under THOR industries.
New 2014 Premier Bullet made by Keystone RV front cap is fading they knew about the problem and still now about the problem and still don't fix it. Warranty is only good for 1 year and they tell you to wax it and use expensive products that don't work and then you have to buy more expensive products to remove it to get it fixed by getting it professional repainted when if they had used better products none of these problems would be happening.
Purchased new, 2014 Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler Fithwheel in 2014. We store this covered at all times. On our 3rd trip out in 2014 on vacation the rubber roof ripped back 4 to 5 feet. When we contacted Keystone about a repair they told us the repair was not covered by Keystone. We believe pulling back of the rubber roof covering was do to a manufacturing defect. Not all of the edge of the covering was captured under the trim and this allowed the air to get under the covering and precipitated the ripping back of the covering. There also did not appear to have glue to hold the covering to the wooden roof material. When taken to a dealer repair shop the employee (does not want to be identified) told us our Fithwheel was the 3rd one to come in his shop in the past few months with the same ripping off problem. They actually had one in the shop the week before. He also commented that they were all 2014 model Keystone products. We feel that there was a manufacturing "glitch" on this model and that Keystone should admit and be held accountable and responsible for these repairs. Even though Keystone would not take responsibility, they should be investigated and made to prevent this from happening to other customers. The reason we are just now coming forward with this is that we were not aware of your website to voice what has happened to us by Keystone. Thank You. [email protected]
