I am writing to draw your attention to an unethical and unprofessional photographer who refuses to refund my deposit of $900 (50% of the agreed services amount) when he is unable to be in Queenstown on the day of my Shoot and double booked my dates.
In Early January, I was unable to confirm my trip as my mother was in ICU, battling end stage cancer. Kent was unsympathetic and said he could not refund me as he rejected other bookings. I then transferred the booking to my sister in law who was in contact with him, she was later down with a sickness and did not reply his email for 3 days, in which he sent us a cancellation email on the 23rd of Jan. At no point did she indicate that we are going to cancel the shoot.
My mum passed away on the 24th of January and I have been busy attending to her funeral arrangements, on the 28th of January I have emailed him that I am able to make the trip now as my mum has since passed on (3 weeks before my pre wed shoot which was meant to be on the 19th of January) and he said he is unable to do the shoot as he would not be in Queenstown.
I feel cheated since Ive paid him 50% of the amount and he is now unwilling to provide me the service. Most reasonable photographers would be kind enough to suggest an alternative date, but he did not even do that.
It seems like you are making use of an unfortunate circumstance to make an easy profit from a tourist.
The way he has treated me is appalling and I appeal for no other customers to be treated in the same manner.
