DO NOT even consider using this company unless you are willing to give up a huge amount of your assets for nothing!
Their scam is all about stepping in where they are not needed in order to grab a huge piece of your pie.
Several months ago a received a letter from them in the mail about some old stock shares I owned. The company had changed hands and my shares needed to be exchanged for shares in the new company.
They wanted 20% of the value of the shares to make the transfer. Since I was not sure where my certificates were, they also wanted another 2% of the value of the shares to issue new ones (total 22%!).
Their letter looks vary official, and implies that this is your only option. They even lie and state that they are working with the Stock Broker or Exchange Company that actually controls the shares. This is how I figured out their scam. I had been in touch with the Exchange Company a year earlier and had not finished the transaction with them. I could not remember the Exchange company's name, but Keane very nicely provided it to me in their letter.
To verify the situation, I contacted Shareholder Services for the company I hold stock in by email. I asked them if they worked with Keane. They said they did not, and if I had a problem with my shares that I should contact the Exchange Company directly.
I contacted the Exchange Company. They covered the lost shares, and converted my shares to the new company for $100!
There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to ever deal with, and get ripped of by, Keane. You can get everything they offer by dealing directly with the company you hold shares in, and thier representative Exchange Company.
I might have just let this go. However, two months after my shares have been fully exchanged for the new company shares, I got another letter from Keane trying to rope me in to their scam again on the same shares. No real harm done, but just seeing their name again in front of my face pissed me off enough the write this Scam Report.
