Normally, writing reviews is not my thing; as a President of my own media company, and a member of the Armed Services I tend to want to work with corporations, to allow for better business practices, if they are lacking in performance; however, the Kanes’s Furniture Corporation, namely the store on 9545 Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32837 seems to be riddled with contract breaches and lies, bordering on extortion. I’m not going to over do it on this review; that’s what Instagram, Yelp and TikTok is for; to name a few, but I will give some insight on my dilemma.

I ordered furniture on the first week of November, was told I would receive it in the middle of December; which is understandable, this mystical COVID 19; which is utilized for every misfortune, was the cause. So I agreed and went on my merry way. Come the end of December; the day before Christmas Eve, I get a call notifying me that my furniture was delivered to the store.

Problem 1: I have a shipping address on file, which it was suppose to be delivered to. I do not own a tractor-trailer, nor do I have intentions of buying one, so why was it dropped off to them, who knows. They were nice enough to tell me my living room set was there ready for pick-up, however. Two days later I have to call the company and ask who is shipping my stuff since you delivered it to your store:

Problem number 2, even though the information that was provided to me clearly states that purchases over $499 will have free shipping (as well as someone calling me when my items would be shipped) I was told I would have to pay $120 to have it shipped. After pointing out that they are breaching their own contract, they told me that Kane’s Furniture would not be sending me anything unless I pay. After explaining their sales contract to them I was told that Kane’s Furniture would ship my things. They would ship it back to the warehouse, then back to me by Jan 21st but they would just leave my stuff on the curb (curbside pick up) for me to do as I wish with it; you can’t make this stuff up. Right there and then I knew I should have went to Rooms to Go, WayFair or Ashley.

After being told that this shouldn’t be new information; because I was told; which I wasn’t, I tend to pay attention to detail; I had two options, get a refund or pay. Now I hate when people lie and say they said something when they didn’t, I also hate when people breach their own contracts and start making stuff up that’s not in the contract. Forced between two unsatisfactory solutions, I paid their extortion. The issue with dealing with corporate criminals is that their whole chain is corrupt. After about 6 minutes of agreeing to pay their blood money I get a call from a 3rd party moving company that was going to drop off my stuff:

Problem number 3, the first thing that the shipping company says is that they normally charge $150 to deliver stuff but there seemed to have been an issue between myself and the store, and we were told that you only had to pay $100. I wonder what slanderous remarks were made about me and my wife; I also wonder, would I have been extorted a second time for an additional $30 when they got here since Kane’s had told me it was $120. Now our sales person Renzo Del Solar is a pleasant person to speak and work with, face to face, but tends to transform into a habitual liar when presented with facts. His attitude also needs a small adjustment when dealing with customers.

Now would I do business with this company again, never; I would actually hope they put me on some black list so I don’t accidently have a lapse in memory. So please, before you buy from this company heed my warnings. I’m an honest hard working individual, who expects for corporations to be held accountable for their tactics; this company in particular will hold your items for ransom, and then lie about it. **Update The 3rd party contractor was a humble Haitian man that moved and prepared my stuff with the help of his wife, son and daughter. Actually, I found this extremely nice and heart felt, but then seeing how Kane’s treats it’s paying customers a sense of sadness fell upon me; I can almost guarantee the store screwed them as well which in itself would be heart breaking. So if that man ever reads this I want to thank them… Broke Contract extorted money to release my goods

I've had this sofa since July 2019 & unfortunately since I live in a Senior Independent Living facility the rooms are small so this 'sofa' is the only thing I have to sit on and it is brutal.. When the service man came to look at it after it was delivered he made several comments #1 Gain some weight & it will feel better to sit on LOL #2 The two seating area cushions on each side appear to be made differently (That's the first truthful thing anyone from Kanes Furniture has said) #3 The second truthful thing Kanes Furniture said was "we don't guarantee comfort"..

This sofa is made badly & I do mean badly & since it is the only seating area I have I now have sores in areas that weren't meant to have sores & when I extend the leg portion to 'rest' my feet on it hits the back of my knee joint so now I have to use a cane to walk since it has caused a problem with my left leg..

I decided instead of trying to contact Kanes Furniture 'again' I would go directly to the manufacturer since I still have their card attached to the sofa and to my surprise LOL on that too the company that made this sofa is in *CHINA*; so Kanes buys cheap & sells ^$$$$$^ no wonder it is made so badly..

In addition the salesgirl at Kanes Furniture clearly told me the manufacturer has a 5 yr warranty on this sofa LIE LIE LIE according to the manufacturers website it only has a limited one year warranty with the operative word being "limited"..

So now I have a sofa that has cost me $1000.00 +++ and can only be sat on one side "lucky me" and don't elevate the foot rest that's a whole other issue..

If you still decide to purchase anything and I do mean anything from any Kanes Furniture store before you ask "how much is this" make sure you ask "where was this product made" and get that in writing..

They took advantage of a senior female on a budget and I do mean took advantage of ..

I'm sure anyone that is reading this is wondering why I waited so long to write the rest of this sofa saga since it's been in my living room since July but quite honestly I am having a hard time dealing with this entire issue & cannot believe I was taken advantage of by Kanes Furniture (but I was) and I've been fighting with them on Google, Facebook & Yelp since it was delivered in July 2019..

Received the poorest customer service with regard to a warranty issue. I purchased a sofa with dual motorized recliners that had a lifetime warranty. One of the recliners was fully extended and the other fully retracted when the mechanism stopped working.

I called customer service and was told that they would send a technician to look at it and that it was covered under the warranty. The technician came and diagnosed the problem as a failed transformer, a part supplied in the original purchase.

He told me to call customer service the next day to find out when they could replace it. I called and after 15+ minutes listening to music was able to talk to a representative. She told me that the transformer was excluded from the warranty; I asked for an explanation as to why this particular part would be excluded; she simply kept repeating a mantra that the transformer was an electrical component and thus excluded although this is not stated in the warranty document.

I finally asked to speak with her supervisor; I was put through to Destiny who simply repeated the mantra. I presented my position and she said that she would review the matter with her supervisor and get back to me. Meanwhile I have a couch with a recliner extended into the middle of the room.

I waited 24 hours and called Destiny; she did not return my call. I called again; no call back. Called again the next day and was told that it was Destiny's day off and that her supervisor was reviewing the issue and would get back to me. No call from anyone at Kane's. I finally purchased a transformer on line and repaired my couch but wanted to understand why Kane's would not honor their warranty.

I finally went to the store and asked to speak with Destiny. She told me that it was Kane's position that the transformer was excluded and that she would help me find a place to purchase one. I told her I had alrady done that and that I was simply trying to understand why they were failing to honor their warranty. I told her I would never ever buy a piece of furniture from Kane's again. I recommend that no one does!

My wife and I bought a dinning room set from Kanes in Ocala. We paid cash and our sales person was very nice and friendly.

We chose to pick up our order the following Saturday rather then pay the $119.00 delivery fee.. On The Friday before we received call from the store advising us our order was in but missing one of the four chairs. We live 92 miles from the Ocala store. The cuatomer service manager, name unnown, told me that had I paid them to deliver the goods we would not have tomake thesecond trip.

This error was theirs not mine. Making two trips is costly and time consuming as well. There was no excuse other then Sorry but things happen. Not one bit of effort was made to satify a customer. The CS, was a jerk, and had no feeling toward our problem. The only words were, You can get your money back in 7 to 10 Days form their cooperate or wait for a week to pick up the entire order or make two trips.

This manager had no feeling and no concerns toward a CASH paying customer at all. This happened June 16,2017 at approximately 3PM. His position was no better then :To Bad" This issue was not our fault nor did we load their truck or make the mistake. It was theirs.

Needless to say I will make every effort to bad mouth Kanes from this day forward. The sales staff Donna Black was great but the management team of Kanes needs to be replaced. Having been in the service industry for 30 years Iwould NEVER have such people working that had no concern for the protection of the customers. He needs to be replaced.

Bottom line......... I will never buy from Kanes again and do everything within my power to promote this poor customer service. I would never loose a cash paying customer overthe delivery of one chair. To bad

Dangerous!After three weeks, since I bought 'Old World China', I opened door and glass shelf with all stuff dropped on my feet. Reason - unappropriated installation by Kane's employees. They didn't adjustment this piece of furniture.I got completely destroyed the beautiful china set for 6 person from Europe, cristal bowl (heirloom about 60 years old), deep scratches at floor and furniture and a other stuff were damaged. At least it cost me 1,000$.3 month I spend for calls, emailing each other, waiting... eventually for nothing, they are denied the claim. That is they reason:"the claim was denied.Per our claims department this was delivered 3 months ago and there is no way of knowing if items were moved or adjusted" Is that my hobby moving and adjusting furniture? 3 month ago?

If a little kid opens this door?

I bought a home theater entertainment group from Kanes furniture. Purchased an extended warranty on it. Said it would cover anything that would happen to it lifetime. Two of the pieces are peeling and cracking in the leather is pulling away from the fabric Call them and reported the problem. They came out and looked at the problem. Said the pieces were not made anymore. And only offered me $600 for all nine pieces. Said they would do nothing else and it wasn't their problem. I paid $2200 for all the pieces. I agreed to $600 for the two pieces. They said no that there was nothing they could do for us.

I had a repairman come to our house yesterday 09/13/2016 and look at the kitchen chairs that were broken.

He concluded that the swivel plates on the bottom of two chairs were broken.

Today 09/14/2016 got an email from Kane Furniture, read it and called. Was told that it was not covered.

What a bunch of crap!!!!

We also purchsed bonded leather living room set and that is peeling like crazy and would not do anything but give

us a store credit of $900 and then take the furniture away when they came to deliver the replacement furnitre.

Still owe money and they want to give store creddit. Bullcrap!!!!!!

They are not standing behind there so called "LIFETIME GUARANTEES".

Purchased 2 Bison recliners March 2016 and seams are coming loose and now with their lifetime warranty it is not covered. Received I am sorry. What do I expect when I spend 1200? Take care of your issue selling inferior furniture. I believe they need to close their doors and do AMERICA consumers a favor.
