I agreed to try a product advertised online for $4.95; it seemed a straight trial where if I liked the product I would then order it. After a couple of days I saw two charges for $4.95 went through in my account. Two weeks later I see a charge for $89.95 and $86.94, which I never authorized.
When I finally called the company they told me I had 14 days to turn down the offer after which I would get charged the full price of the product. Nowhere I could see on the advertisement were displayed these conditions, under which I would have never accepted the trial. Being a fitness product, it is logical that it would take at least 8-10 weeks to see if there was any result to know whether I would finally buy it, so conditions like these would not be acceptable in any case.
I now see that the same scam has been going around under different company names and a lot of people are affected. Of course I never even tried the products because it could be illegal dangerous stuff made who knows where. The reason why I was charged the initial trial of a second product is clear now, and it is because this way they could also tag a second bigger charge along with it two weeks later.
