The Indian Grocery Items which are imported from India are in Ruppe currency and here these are sold in US Dollars.
The usual conversion rate of one US dollar is equal to Indian Rupee 60.00 or more currently in the market
I am giving example of one simple item a tooth paste called "Babool Tooth paste " made by Dabur India which is priced just for Indian Ruppes 48.00 ony is being sold for $5.50 at this store last week
I pointed it out to the owner who said that he is buying it from the Indian suppliers at high prices and he is helpless.
What I wish to point out is a business practices of Indian Grocery Exporters from India ,here and am not complaining against this particular local business Indian grocery store. As we do not know rhe detailed inside facts in general .
I happen to see one real and very clear example which just shocked me .
As per the Indian Ruppee rates ,even if we take at Rupees 60.0 equal to one US dollar the cost price of this Toothpaste in India stands at 48/60=0.8 US Dollar
We can imagine how many times the cost price is the sale price of this item in USA >>>$5.50 divided by 0.8USD=6.875 times high price
All I am trying to bring to the notice of people here is that Indian Grocery Imprters are selling the Indian Groceries at un usually high Prices to Indian in USA .
is there any remedy possible?
Can we educate our Indians living in the USA ?
It is a common practice by Indian Grocery stores ,it seems to us here ,just this is one clear example which has come to lime light because the original Indian Price of this item is printed on the box of this toothpaste by the manufacturer Dabur India as Indian Rupees Forty Eight only for Two Babool Toothpaste in the Box.WHICH IS JUST $0.8 US DOLARS BEING SOLD TO US FOR USDOLLARS$ 5.50
