K.Z., Inc. Reviews

My young family thought long and hard before before finally being able to purchase a new RV. Saving was a struggle as like most families we had to make many sacrifices if we were ever to own our own RV. The scrimping and saving was worth it though, as we got excited about the many wonderful trips and education our daughter would receive in Gods great outdoors.

The decision as to which travel trailer was hard, but exciting. In the end, we were won over by the KZ speil of good quality trailers with a solid customer service that would always be there for their KZ family.

Two years of living the dream suddenly turned into a nightmare when I was cleaning my KZ trailer and noticed a ripple in the fibreglass side. I called the dealership right away, although the manager was away. I followed up by email a few days later.

When I finally got my trailer to the shop, the technicians upon their inspection said they had never seen anything like it.

The side was not spongy, nor was there any kind of separation with the the fibreglass. Water damage was ruled out. My dealer then contacted KZ, who then authorized to have the trailer repaired. Unfortunately the repair shop was unable to do the repair as they did not want to take liability for something going wrong. This is where my dealer and KZ fell down horribly. A half baked excuse of "the aluminum support expanded in the sun, pushing out the fibreglass" and "don't worry, this won't compromise your trailer, or safety" was handed to me. In frustration, I started to correspond with KZ myself. This turned into an arduous fight to get anywhere. KZ wanted me to bring the trailer to them. A young family expected to travel across many states with a defective trailer? A discussion was had where I would attempt to bring the trailer part way.

Owing to family health issues, involving a spot of hospitalization, that seemingly occurred every time my wife spent time in the trailer resulting in respiratory distress I could not make the trip As I had my wife and daughter to take care of. I attempted to go through my insurance company to see if they could take care of the issue. They had professional inspectors scour the trailer, but could find no sign of the type of water ingress they would need to verify for their check Box. The professional inspector told my devestated family the trailer would be a write off! what was worse, but a blessing, was that I was informed the aluminum support member had aluminum corrosion, something they believe was festering away as soon as the trailer was pushed out of the KZ factory. The blessing was my wife, daughter and I, as well as other road users were not killed when towing this manufacturer defect trailer.

Distraught, I contacted KZ, whose "customer care" department didnt want to hear. They did not care to hear about their dangerous deathtrap, a compromised wall, a families dreams gone up in smoke, a payment that the bank will still continue to collect from us for many, many years to come. Not even 4 years old, this trailer was defective.

In frustration, I have contacted the BBB and will now save for a lawyer to bring this all the way. How a company such as KZ and our dealership could have been so callous as to have a family in a deathtrap is unforgivable.

For KZ to go back on their word and no longer honor their written commitment to repair the trailer is unforgivable.

i can't even forgive myself, as I pushed for the KZ brand and my family followed. When my daughter cries as her friends take off camping, I can't forgive myself. But, I would never live with myself if they got killed by it.
