I bought a vehicle from JTS auto in March 2016. The person who sold me the car seemed very nice and knowledgable, friendly and right on top of everything. Any questions I had about the car buying process of the vehicle itself, he answered and if he didnt know the answer, he made sure to ask someone who did. Any time I called and asked for him, the person on the other end of the phone was super nice. I never once doubted I was dealing with a bunk dealership.
The day I drove to get my vehicle, I had my mom and aunt go with me. We were all very excited becuase it was a nice looking vehicle and it was going to belong to my family of 4.
Once we arrived we did all the formalities and paperwork, the salesman brought the car out for me and automatically we could tell something was wrong with it. The engine did not sound quite right but chalked it up to maybe the vehicle sitting for a little bit. Wrong!
The sales man was nice when we mentioned it and he said to call the garage in the morning regarding it and they will make sure they take a look and fix anything that could be wrong. Well, I should never had taken it off the lot.
Going back to bring it for a "scheduled" appointment, mind you I live 5 hours round trip and with mine and my husbands schedule along with kids, we dont have a lot of time, also I was coming off a 12 hour night shift so I wasnt happy to begin with but it was the only time I had available. Anyways, I made the trip down with my father for them to "listen" to the noise and then got sent back home. I stopped at an accredited dealership in my home state on the way back and asked them to listen to it.
Automatically they said it was a low grade knock in the engine and it needed to be fixed. I called JTS and let them know and asked what they were going to do about it. It was again, schedule an appointment, bring it down and we will take a look. I called and talked to the general manager about a rental car because I shouldnt have to pay for a rental car when they are fixing a car less then a month after they sold it to me. He was a complete jerk. Told me they would not pay for a rental car, when I threatened with filing with the BBB he laughted and said to go ahead because he wasnt worried. I told him it was a low-grade knock in the engine and they should never have sold the car and he said that wasnt a mechanic but that didnt sound bad. Really?!
On the way back to bring the car to them, I stopped back and had the same dealership in Maine perform an inspection for a Maine sticker without the sticker, it failed to pass inspection. I also did the same thing at a dealership that was suggested by them in New Hampshire, the same state I bought the vehicle in, and it failed, again. This means that JTS Auto illegally inspected the vehicle they sold to me and it wasnt just a small thing either, there was a laundry list of problems with the vehicle that made it unsafe for my family to be in. Now, I sit waiting to see about getting out of the loan they set up for me and paying insurance and payments for a vehicle I do not have. DO NOT buy from these people. They are shady and lie. They will sell you an unsafe vehicle, say they will do whatever they can to make it right after the fact and then dont.
