Joe Hanley Went to work for this man over a month ago he owes me over $500 dollars has threatened me with abandonment of the truck if I don't return to the truck, they are so irresponsible I never even signed the contract with them, yet he is holding money I've earned and work for, do yourself a favor and get a better fleet owner when working for Panther expedite JSM trucking LLC will only rip you off.
JSM trucking LLC will rip you off, you won't get paid and they will hold your pay and threaten and black mail you.
It seems to be a trend with this company. A quick search online will reveal that they seem to do this to all of their employees that quit (and they have a LOT that quit). We were fortunate enough to only lose about $1000, but we read stories of others that lost several thousand. Do your research and go with a different truck owner. These people are absolutely no good thieves.
We have had some drivers that have abandoned the truck When you lease on your given a contract not only for the protection of the owner but the protection of the driver as well. When it states in the contract your to give a 2 weeks notice in writing and take the truck back to Panther and you don't instead you dead head it home then get out with the truck left a mess and demand your pay in full. JSM has to hire someone to go retrieve their truck and it has to be cleaned and usually there is mechanical damage to say the least. Who do you think pays for this the magic truck retrieval ferry. It cost .95 cents a mile to move a truck from mile one to mile ?. Then to have a truck professionally cleaned another 200 to 250. But we know you left it in perfect shape .Right? It really bothers me when people get on these pages and only tell half the story. Go to our FB page and talk to our drivers the ones that have been here and know us. Not the ones that jump from owner to owner doing all the same way and that's BADLY.
I was a team driver with Scott Driskill, who is buying the truck from JSM and Joe Hanley. I did not have that information before getting in the truck with Scott. As the 'owner' of the truck, Scott was responsiblle for repairs, fuel, and maintainence...and MY pay. I was in the truck for 3 weeks, driving for free, without pay. I finally got one depostit in the bank from Scott, but no settlement.
Scott enjoys name dropping and boasting about how many people he's connected to at Panther, FedEx, and other companies, so once I decided I wanted out of this situation I tried to make it as smooth as possible. I did not tell him I was exiting the truck because I felt, as the owner, he might put me out immediately...on the side of the street, if he chose to. I waited to leave the truck until we were in the area of his hometown, in Ohio, and the truck was in the shop for repairs. Scott himself left the truck for almost 2 days. I took that opportunity to gather my things, clean up, and leave. I logged out, took pictures, and left a note for him. I also emailed Panther. JSM and Scott still owe me for 2 weeks of driving, and I have the pros to prove it.
Now, I have another fleet owner lined up but Panther says I'm ineligible to return. Apparantly, Scott and JSM reported that I abandoned the truck. In short, these guys can blacklist you from whatever company you work under and, because it takes them 3 weeks to process your first paycheck, when you do leave you will not receive your last two weeks of pay...no matter the condition of the truck. This truck was not abandoned; it was parked exactly where Scott wanted it.
Of all the fleet owners you can work under at Panther or FedEx, this company is one of the worst. If getting paid matters to you, find someone else. They're involved politically with Panther so there are no consequences to how they treat drivers.
If you choose to work for them, then don't cry about it later if they keep your paychecks. There are way too many stories online, from too many people, that have worked for this company, and never got all their money. Whether it's part of their paycheck that was never given to them, or their entire paycheck, it seems like this company always has an excuse for not paying their employees, that is if they ever give an excuse. A lot of employees have reported not getting the full amount that they were promised, and an even higher number of employees have reported never getting any more settlements once they announced that they were leaving the company.
It's the same story with so many trucking companies. They know that drivers don't have the time, energy, recources, and money to go after them for their paychecks, so the companies simply keep the money that is owed to their employees. And in the very few cases where an employee does hire an attorney, the company simply pays them their money before it ever goes to court.
JSM seems to be no different than all the other companies that utilize this practice. The consensus is, that they make holy grail promises to get you in the door, and once you sign their ridiculous contract, they do whatever they want to you, and you can't afford to fight them.
This is a tale as old as time, so just beware, that this same scenario will very possibly happen to you as well. I read a report on a different website where they offered to pay an ex-employee their money, if the ex-employee agreed to write a public retraction letter, then once the retraction had been written, they refused to give the ex-employee their money.
When choosing a fleet to drive for, always make sure you do adequite research, and never allow yourself to become one of the people that have had so many bad experiences with bad companies. Talk to past employees, look online, make phone calls if you must. If you can't find anything negative about a company (that has been around for many years) then chances are, that is the safe choice.

Promise you the world before you start, then will drain every dollar they can from you, and there is almost nothing you can do about it.
