I don't want anyone to get ripped off by this young man, so please don't hire him to do any plumbing work for you. Make sure he draws up paperwork and you have a copy of whatever it is he is supposed to be doing, none of which I got from him. He was hired to put in a bathtub and surround and a new shower diverter. He pretended that he knew what he was doing, and he did not. Lot of things, I had to tell him. His plumbing work sucks and would not hold up, and he wanted to blame it on the parts that I bought. He said it was the shower diverter from Home Depot. Well why did he leave the cartridge in it while he was soldering copper? And besides that, he put in the plumbing backwards. The shower diverter was upside down in the wall, it was plumbed too far back, he kept the original distance and never checked, and whenever he couldn't do something he would blame it on whatever product he was putting in.
For instance he was putting in the light and he couldn't get it in properly so he said the light sucked it wasn't a good light.
Anyway I contacted him to tell him the problem with the plumbing and the leaking in the wall, all of a sudden he was swamped. I texted him. Did a background check on him publicly and found out he had drug trafficking on his record, the ambulance company was suing him for an unpaid bill, he had domestic violence on his record.
Honestly I adored him and he seemed like a nice young adult trying to work, but he is not skilled, especially in the plumbing area, and he will pretend that he knows what he is doing. It's ok Mr. James Svoboda, I feel better now, because I put up this report.
I know he couldn't possibly believe that the products I purchased were faulty, when it was his work that was faulty. If you could see the soldering that he did, it is a poor job. Just like he told me the way he tested his plumbing (mind you putting in a shower diverter and tub spout) was to just run the water. Then he covered up the wall with the tub surround and put silicone on it and screwed it in.
Later I go to test the shower and it fails, the screws won't go into the escutcheon plate because the shower diverter is too far back into the wall. The hot water was to the right and it's supposed to be to the left, he put it in upside down. When he changed the light out he couldn't get it in right and so he said it was the light and it sucked. One screw is missing out of the light and I paid over $100 for that light, why would I want someone doing a shoddy job and not putting in my products right?
Please stay away from this young man as he is not a mature adult ready to take responsibility for his mistakes and refused to come back and fix the problem, which I wouldn't trust because he didn't know how to do the work in the first place. I asked him for a little less than half of my money back on the job and he refused. DO NOT HIRE HIM.
