Jonathan's or John's Mobile Auto Body Repair Reviews
Apr 8, 2019
John did body work on my vehicle and left poorly finished bondo, paint coming loose, orange peel and sandpaper scratches that show through the paint. He offers a satisfaction guarantee but I have texted him 12 times in 6 days and called him once to come back and fix/redo his workmanship and he has not committed to coming back.
He states that he is a third-generation body man but he failed to have any degreasing solvent, proper grit sandpaper, a block sander, masking tape, cardboard for bondo mixing, an electric drill, electric or air sander, a body dolly or a body hammer. His sandpaper supply was randomly wadded up in his tote, leaving a lot of them creased.
He was going to use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to make a hole for his dent puller (which was a nail puller/pry bar). He because he had no sander, he borrowed my orbital sander but sanded using one edge vs. the middle and broke the orbital mechanism. His only black paint was for bumpers and trim paint so he used that on my fender. Rather than apply the primer and let it fully dry for several hours/overnight and resand, he immediately painted the bumper paint over it then the clear coat over that. When I pointed out the orange peel, he said the orange peel would go away as it dried.
So - if you are looking for a cheap, get whatever you get paint work, don't care what it looks like and you don't feel you need his guarantee - maybe. If you want your car to look better after he's finished, I would look elsewhere.
Maybe I should have followed his advice and not paid him 'til he came back, eh? I cannot speak to the quality of any of the other services John offers.
