My wife and I stopped by Joe Caccamo's booth at a local flea market where he advertises his business of selling and installing mibile home products. Having just bought a second home in FL, and our first 'mobile' type home, we needed some things done to it. We thought that what better contractor to consult with than a guy that specializes in that type of home. We needed a new entry door and wanted a price on a window installed and skirting repaired as well.
Joe showed up on time at our home for the first meeting. That consisted of taking our money for a new door, paid for in full, and promissing to deliver and install within two weeks. The installation labor was to be paid by us upon completion but the door had to be paid in full before he would order it. There have been several communications with Joe since then but they were to tell us that he couldn't make it. When on the phone with Joe, I asked him if he oredered the door and if he has it. He told me he had it. Still...we hear nothing. A few days past and my wife and I decided to pay Joe a visit at his booth at the local flea market where we first met him. He didn't even recognize us!! I had to tell him who I was before he realized we were his customers. He claimed that I had a different hat on this time and that's why he didn't remember me.
While at Joe's booth at the flea market, my wife asked him again...."do you have our door we paid you for?" Joe replied that he had the door and it would be installed by next Thursday 3/24. Today, 3/23, I got a call from Joe about a problem with the door not making it on the truck to his place from the distributor! The same door he had for us for a week and a half already. This was the last time I was going to be put off buy this scammer.
Mr Caccamo knows that we have only one month to have the door installed before we have to leave and return to our full time residence up north and he's simply trying to run out the clock. I contacted Joe the first day I was in FL so that there would be plenty of time to make this repair. I wish I would have contacted someone else.
