Check BBB complaints... On December 16, 2023 I responded to an Instagram add for a holiday gift kit by purchasing "6PC THAT JLO DELUXE KIT". I paid $81.43. The ad had no mentions of subscription, neither did the confirmation email I received that day. However, without my consent, the company enrolled me in a subscription and sent me a package in January for which they charged me, without my knowledge or consent, $90.47 on January 16h 2024. Upon seeing the charge on my credit card, I contacted the company via phone. They refused to cancel the membership/subscription, refused to issue a refund, and told me I had to pay to ship back the unsolicited goods for them to cancel the reoccurring charges. The option given that had no cost to me was to take the package to USPS and "return to sender" which I did. On January 21st, 2024, I received an email from them with subject "Your Subscription Has Been Canceled". I then assumed, that they had received the goods and were going to issue a refund anytime. However, no refund was issued. Instead, on February 15th, 2024, Jlo Beauty charged my credit card once more for $94.72. I contacted them today Feb 19th and in short they told me. There is nothing they can do to cancel my subscription or refund me unless I show them proof that I returned the unsolicited goods. (However, USPS did not provide me with any proof when I told them to return the package to sender). And it looks like they did receive that package because of the cancelation email I received on January 21st. I will report Jlo Beauty as fraud with my credit card company. I hope that's enough to get them to stop stealing my money. But I would love a refund and I would like to prevent them from scamming other people with their shady practices. While I was in the process of writing this and reports, my credit card company advised me to contact them once more with the tracking number for the first unsolicited package they sent me because it should show the package was refused (indeed, it does. but I didn't realize that until they told me). I contacted them via chat and they finally said they would issue a refund for both, the January and February charge without much resistance and abruptly ended the chat. We'll see if the refunds comre through. However, I would still advice anyone to stay away from purchasing from them because they made me waste a lot of my valuable time and I don't want them to was yours or take your money if you don't fight for it, like I did.
