I had low oil pressure light come on in mt 2012 ford truck. I went to Jim Trenary Ford to get them to put gauge on it to find real oil pressure, thinking maybe it was a bad sensor. They stated they would have to drive it until the light comes on and that may cost $400.00.
Told them that is not necessary the light is on now. Then they said they would have to do a diagnostic test cost $100.00. I agreed to that, but told them to ignore the ABS light I know what that is already. They came back and gave me a quote to repair ABS and replace oil sensor $900+I told the forget the ABS $400 just repair the sensor if that is what is causing light to come on.
They replaced the sensor that cost $14.95 and charged me $500.00. Before I drove a mile the light came on again. I take it back and they say they will check to be sure it is not a bad sensor. No sensor is good. Then they tell me they can check the oil pressure for a cost of $200.00 which is what I wanted in the first place.
Said truck has 2 percent oil pressure qand must be replaced. I replaced the oil with a heavier weight and added oil stabilizer and light goes off and truck has been runing fine ever since. I advise all seniors to stay clear of this dealership.
They are both dishonest and incompetant and will rip off you off. Had I listened to them I would have thrown away a good engine that runs great and purrs like a kitten. I wish I had more room to talk about this dealership.
