One 45-minute visit to JFK ER in Midtown Palm Beach Gardens FL cost $17,933.00 They did not help me at all and misdiagnosed my issues on top of that! All they did was 2 ct scans, no labs, and didn't even give me an Advil for pain! I had to go buy Adil on the way home. After being rear-ended in a car accident by an uninsured motorist, JFK ER used my entire PIP coverage plus 8k more, so now I have no money left in my PIP to get help for my constant neck pain which I still have 7 weeks later!
On top of that, the two $17,933.00 ct scans resulted in a misdiagnosis of my neck injury. The ER doctor told me it was just muscle strain and it would be healed in a week or two. Seven weeks later I am still in severe constant pain and a 2k MRI shows herniated discs that an 18k ct scan didn't show. I was told by someone in the profession that urgent care centers use x-rays, but JFK Medical Center is known to use ct scans just so they can use up all of your insurance coverage in one visit.
The average cost of a ct scan is $1,200. I am told, but because it was a car accident, they charged over $8,000 per scan. The other passenger in my car went to MD Now, and the bill was a normal amount and he still had plenty of PIP coverage to go for treatments to manage his pain. He is going for treatments 3x per week, but I had to cut my treatments to a minimum because of JFK robbing my PIP. I saw that JFK Medical Center is currently being sued in a class action for this exact same reason, but it was too late to join the class action which is about to settle now I am told.
