On January 31, 2021 about 3:30 PM my family went to the Orlando Florida Airport. The crowds were low around the waiting area around the ticket counters. I was minding my business while waiting for my family to check in across the room. No one was around me for at least 20 ft.

Then the JetBlue ticket line monitor challenged me because I had no mask on. I politely explained to him from across the large empty aisle that I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing these. Most organizations accept this without further issue since this is in reality part of these mandates and guidelines (that are not law).

The JetBlue agent decided that he was going over to his lead and complain about his perception about my not complying. His lead is a 50+ year old Hispanic male with a radio (of course) marched over an empty aisle and accosted me in an abrupt manner with an angry disposition and elevated voice, "where is your mask", he barked.

I explained to him again as I had just done that I have a medical condition that prevents this. The JetBlue agent would not accept this explanation, and told me I "had to leave or he was calling the cops."

It was clear that he did not understand the limitations of the mandates that do not apply across the board for handicapped people with medical conditions. The belligerence, rudeness, and ignorance of what he was supposedly enforcing was unacceptable. Clearly he wanted to exercise his perceived authority when he was really showing insecurity.

This is common for these uninformed "Mask n**i's" to go well beyond their authority and ignore the laws on Civil Rights and try to enforce compliance to their specific views ( of a guideline, which is not law) even though the guideline he was enforcing makes exceptions for individuals with medical conditions.

I moved over next to the exit door and waited for my family to complete check-in. This JetBlue "Mask n**i " tyrant decided that was not far enough, so he came over again with another belligerent and unhinged attack.

He was fortunate my family was present , because we would have had a real encounter and I would be filing charges against him and JetBlue for assault.

JetBlue has forgotten that we were their paying customers (never again !) and likely all that witnessed this unprofessional tirade from the JetBlue agent that is supposed to be serving the public.

JetBlue has cut their flight routes by 40% last April 2020 and this type of service will likely drive even more cuts in their customer base.

I could tell that this JetBlue agent and Mask n**i, felt empowered by his employer. The fact that I had a genuine medical condition and the entire aisle was empty was not even his slightest concern. The important thing was showing his authority to his other ticket aisle monitor.

The only thing that was accomplished by all of this is that JetBlue lost additional future customers by supporting this type of behavior.

If you have a choice in airlines, please choose other services that respect their customers, the law, and a proper understanding of the mandates before they try to enforce these. This is especially important if you have any kind of medical condition that keeps you from wearing a mask.
